Planning a trip for late October or early November 2014. I can't go later than the first week of November. I believe Jersey Days are the 6th and 7th.
How bad are the crowds during Jersey week? Would we begetter off going late October?

It is crowded and busy, and I'm actually going to book Jersey Week for a friend next year. He teaches in NJ, and it's when he and his family can go.

If you could go in October, I would do that, since I think the weather just may be a bit nicer.

As long as Snookie, The Situation, Jwoww, or PaulyD are not there, it should be a good time for all.

We went a couple of years ago during Jersey Week. It wasn't as busy as Columbus Day week in October and the weather was cooler. I would definitely do that week again if it would work with the kids' school schedules.

You may have the end of F&W as well as the Wine and Dine Half Marathon. And you have the end of Halloween parties at MK.

We did Jersey week last year without knowing we booked that week. I'll be honest I didn't notice the crowds at all. They seemed very normal and easy to deal with. Sure it was the last week for the Food & Wine Festival and Festival of the Masters is that weekend, and there's usually a Marathon thrown in somewhere, but I still didn't notice the crowds. I'm actually booking that week next year for my family to go down again. We loved watching Magic Kingdom go from Halloween themed to Christmas all in the span of that week :). Also the Osborne Lights usually are up and running by that Friday and the MVMCP starts that week also.

I am looking to go Nov 1-6 next year. Do the crowds for end of F & W, marathon, and Festival of the Masters typically just affect the weekend? Or the whole week prior?
I hear such conflicting reports on Jersey Week crowd levels. But I do think watching the MK go from Halloween to Christmas would be neat to see!

Ain't that the truth. Jersey week is fantastic....except everyone there is from Jersey. Those that don't know about Jersey week are shocked that everyone they meet is from Jersey!

Seriously it's not crowed at all......during the week. Weekend? Well, it's usually the last Food & wine weekend so that always makes epcot slammed that weekend. Nothing to do with it being Jersey week. Last year they also had a marathon so that added to it. Not sure about this year. We had a blast last year when we were there (yes I'm from Jersey). Very low crowds during the week. Unlike many other Jersey schools, I'm required to work 1 one the teacher convention days (or I can go to the convention which is what I usually choose) But I'm allowed to take my personal days the 3 days after, so next year or 2015 we may head down Thursday afternoon from ACY airport (the teacher's convention is in AC) and be down for 6 nights and head back the following Wednesday. We can hit F&W, and probably a MVMCP in that span.

Jersey week is a great week to be down there. The entire state of NJ doesn't show up in Disney.....it's just that most people there will be from NJ.

We arrived on that Tuesday night Nov 6 last year. There were very few Christmas decorations up. Each day as we entered the parks there were more from the day before. We did the MVMCP Friday night and by then it was Christmas everywhere. Very cool to see the transition. Everyday we would say, "Hey....that wasn't there yesterday!" Personally, I don't think the castle looks better than when it is covered in lights to make it "frosty"

I've been down twice during Jersey week and don't feel it's much different at all from the rest of the fall during F&W. It's all gotten busier than it used to be but it's not anything that isn't manageable.

If anyone is at WDW now, I would love to hear reports on crowds. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Would agree.

Most people coming for jersey week haven't arrived yet. A good gauge of crowd levels will be on Wednesday or Thursday.
See everyone in two days!

This is only partly true...The vast majority of Jerseyans are down there as of Friday night & Saturday...Only a handful get there this Wed. or Thursday.

We've been down there 3 times during " Jersey Week " & it's probably our favorite time to go....Yes there are plenty of people from NJ there and NY state as well, but the parks I don't think were ever higher than a 5 out of 10 at the most. Friday n Saturday of either part of Jersey week is busy at Epcot, so I would just avoid it those days & you'll have a great time....

The weather is perfect to..80- 82 * , virtually not a drop of rain, and if you play it right with the dates, you'll get to see Halloween decorations, then at the end you'll get Xmas decorations too.
& Osbornes Spectacle of Lights...Which is a MUST SEE!!!....:thumbsup2

Jersey week happens because of the teachers convention. All public school kids are off from school on Thursday/ Friday. Being a veteran jersey week participant I disagree with the opinion that we Garden State folk crash on only Friday and Saturday.

Lots of families go down from jersey not just because of Thursday Friday, but many schools only have 2 days of school for students. My kids are off Wednesday as well as there is a district inservice day, and some schools even have Monday the 11th off for Veterans Day off. It makes sense for many families to pull their kids for those 2 days and take a week vacation.
