How bad is Easter week 2013?

We are thinking of going next year for Easter week, which falls the first week in April. Has anyone gone that time of year and if so, how was it? Is it beyond crowded or is it doable? Thanks so much!

Everyone used to tell us don't do Easter or 4th July...

Well we just did 9 days at Gflo for the 4th of July and loved it... plan on booking again in October when we are down..

As for Easter... can't tell you...

We've gone a few times the week before Easter. It is busy, very busy, but also doable. Just need to plan. Each my kids gets to pick 4 must dos and we make sure everyone gets to do their must do. I know the advice out there is to avoid EMH but we accomplish a lot during those times. Especially when MK has the 7am EMH-M opening and EMH-E at 1am.

We were there (offsite) for the week following Easter last year. It was a lot more doable than I had anticipated. We were in the parks for five days (with hoppers), arrived just at opening, made good use of fastpasses, and even took time for the pool in the afternoons at our timeshare, and were able to do everything we wanted.

Easter week is incredibly crowded an expensive, really only second to Christmas/New Year's week in terms of high crowds and costs. You will need to have a good touring plan, get to the parks early, utilize the Fastpass system and prepare yourself for the walll-to-wall people. Also, Easter week is almost always blacked out for discounts.

We've been a few times right at Easter, but to give you the most recent observations, I'll just post about our latest stay which was just this last Easter 2012. The crowds were very manageable. The park that got consistently packed each time we went there was MK right around 1:00ish. So we went to MK in the mornings and our wait times were not bad at all -- in fact we walked right on a few rides. The other 3 parks were just fine for us, no problems with crowds. We talked to several CM's during this trip because we were so surprised about the crowds and every CM's comments were along the lines of "the crowds are way down." No parks closed due to full capacity as in the past years at Easter. I have pictures from our Easter Sunday in Epcot and everyone I show comments "where are all the people"!

Also, we were upgraded at both of our resorts, WL and BC, due to lots of empty rooms. Considering all this, I think Easter 2013 in disney will depend on if disney offers any deals. We got AAA discount and I'm going to call shortly to see if we can get AAA discount again for 2013.

I hate to sound dense, but are we talking the week before or the week after Easter? My big girls' spring break is the week after and it's also our youngest daughters birthday on 4/2.

Easter Sunday and the week following will be one of the busiest and most expensive weeks of the entire year. The week preceding into Easter Sunday is almost as crowded. That 2 week time frame is the height of the spring break/easter season.
