:confused3 DD 5 really wants to go there for dinner but I've been reading mixed reviews. Has everyone been there recently?

Thanks!

I haven't been there, but I made dinner ADR's for August. I have also read a lot of mixed reviews. On the other hand, there are plenty of places that I have read poor reviews for that I have been to and really like, so I am hoping for the best.

I think if your DD wants to go there, go for it.
I can tell you we went in September 07 and hated it. Had a great table but awful character intercation. I have been to ever character meal on disney property except Cape May Cafe breakfast since 2006, so I have tons of excellent characters to compare it to.
All 4 adults hated the food. We all left full but unsatisfied.

we were just there end of May -- click on my reviews for May 2009 below -- we really enjoyed Park Fare. There were a couple of things we didn't care for (some of the pasta dishes) but majority of food was actually quite good, and some of it was wonderful...the carved beef, the strawberry soup, and several of the desserts to name a few. The entertainment (characters) is a blast for kids & adults.

I am confused I am eating there on my actual b-day which is 7 days away I was relay excited when the CM was able to fit me and my DFi in now am 2 steps away from canceling and eating CS and watching the parade at the MK sens that is what I picked for my free admission so any input would work. There are no kids in the mix just two adults who want to act like kids but I think am still going to be going to 1900 park fare with adult taste buds

We ate there June 07' we all loved it. The kids loved the character interaction. This was back when the mice were still part of the game and my son fell in love with them to the point he asked one to come home with him. My daughter who thinks of herself as a Princess loved Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother, who I understand is not there either. As for my dh, dss & I we loved the food. I loved the mussels and strawberry soup. Dh loved the prime rib. When we started planning meals for our trip this year everyone asked for this to be a repeat meal.
Here is the link to my review from 07’ you can see from my kids’ faces how much they enjoyed it.

Like pp we found restaurants that have gotten mixed reviews we liked.

We were there this last September and all loved it! Well except for my 2 older sons 13 and 9. They loved the food, but not the characters LOL. Cinderellas step sisters made them get up and dance in a group of all little girls, it was hilarious!!! They both very strongly said they won't go back :lmao:

The main problem with the place is the accustics.

It is very LOUD in there. The sounds of dozens of screaming children bounce off of the walls and seem to amplify 10 times over. If that sounds like no big deal to you, then you may be alright...

The food is just OK, but as long as you are seated in the main room the character interaction is very good.

We've been many times--most recently in January '09--and have loved it every time.

The stepsisters are a delightfully comedic addition to the characters available at character meals. I agree that the acoustics are horrible, much like Crystal Palace, which means it's not a place that feels restful and relaxing, for sure.

The food is very standard issue Disney buffet stuff, no better nor worse than most other character meal options, except that the strawberry soup is beloved by my entire family. Everyone is able to find some items they enjoy eating there.

The dinner is not very good but the characters are a lot of fun! Don't go too hungry and you'll have a great time!

The food is pretty good. The character interaction is great. My DD3 loves the stepsisters and she is still talking about them. My mom has dietary restrictions and they even prepared a special meal for her that was great. My last trip was the first time I had ever had dinner there and I booked it again for our next trip. Go and enjoy.

we were there May 2009 and thought it was really fun. The characters were fun and the food for the most part was good.

The first year we ate at Park Fare the food was outstanding as was the atmopshere. Since they have remodeled, on two occasions the food was awful, the dishes were cold, and flavorless.

Definately go! I like the food there, but it isn't DH's favorite place. That said we still go every trip!

We had a horrible table, long wait to get in even though we had one of the first ADR's of the day, a 45-60 minute wait before we saw the first character and the food wasn't that good.

Now the character interaction was great once they came around and DD was on :cloud9:.

We are most likely going to skip it next trip but may give it a try in the future again.

We haven't eaten there recently but we have twice before and got the same experience both times. We didn't LOVE it. The food was okay but not the best. When I read reviews, I look to see what the reviewer and I have in common. Do we like the same foods? Do we have favorites that we like that are the same? etc... This way you can better judge if you'd like it. Everyone has different tastes and preferences so, that can make a huge difference in writing the review.

Personally, both times we've eaten there we got the rude family next to us that would hog the characters and take them out of turn. It was very frustrating for my kids because they would be waiting for the character to come to our table and then, the table next to us would take them out of turn. I wanted to say something to the family but my dh wouldn't let me. We did tell the waiter both times and got nothing in return. So, for us the meal wasted 2 hours of our time and disappointed our daughters.

Finally, we weren't impressed with the buffet (we did breakfast once and dinner once). Now, I love CRT and a lot of people hate that place or I love Crystal Palace but I can't stand Chef Mickey's or Cape May. My choices are based on food alone.

So, I'd go and experience it and come back and write a review!

It wont be on our list of repeats for this coming December either.

While it was great to watch my DD get to meet Cindy, we collectively thought the food wasn't very good, we a bad table spot in that hallway area...and we waited for like an hour and a half, with an ADR, to get into the place...then took 2 hours to get through the meal. It wasn't worth it.

Conversely, we went into the Royal Table fearing the worst, based on the reviews read at Allears...and walked out completely loving the experience...and hope to do it again.
