Woo Hoo!!! The MacArthur Foundation has awarded this year's Genius Grants - $500,000.00 each to 25 people for their creative pursuits during the next five years. So far, my favorite is the turtle guy.
If you had this grant, what would you do?? The grant is designed to provide your living expenses for a period of time so you can focus on doing the creative work that gets you labeled as...well, a genius.So, although technically you could probably use the money to pay off your credit cards and go to Disney, if those were your choices you probably wouldn't have gotten the grant in the first place.
So, what makes you a genius? I think I would spend my five years visiting all the world's grerat libraries, doing research and exploring the ancient sites. Maybe at the end I would have some insight into how we can honor the past in today's techno-savvy world.
Or, I might just watch a lot of TV and DIS !!!!!
