How are Tonys and 1900 PF Break

I ate at Tony's 2 weeks ago. It was edible, but not at all good. The chicken parm cutlet tasted frozen, and the sauce on the pasta tasted like it was out of a jar. Then again, it was a nice acidic sauce-out-a-jar, so I liked it well enough.

Desserts were pretty mixed. My wife's no sugar added green apple sorbet was more weird than interesting (big pieces of apple), and my pistachio creme brulee was clearly overcooked and lacked flavor.

That being said, I cleaned my plate and had energy to keep going through the park. It's exactly what you'd expect from an Italian restaurant on Main Street in a smaller Midwestern town.

I actually really liked Tony's. 1900 was good but I haven't been there since the renovations a couple years ago.... the food at Tony's wasn't bad at all, but the service was a bit slow that day

With any dining questions, you are likely to get lots of different opinions.

Tony's is just okay, IMO. The decor is cute.

I like 1900PF. The food can be slightly variable. I like it better for dinner than breakfast. The step sisters are a hoot - some of the best characters on property, IMO. The biggest downside is the price and the noise level can sometimes be loud. After or before your meal, taking time at GF can be a nice break from the hub bub of WDW. The live music is very nice, the grounds are also pretty.

I think most of the places at GF are quite good! Citricos, Narcoosee's are excellent. I alos like the QS. The cafe is okay. I've never tried V&A, but it doesn't appeal to me at all. For that matter, most of hte places in the MK deluxes are very good. Another place you can probably get last minute is The Wave.

In MK, one place that's often available is the sandwich place.

Trying to figure out last miute planning.. looking at these two..

A few weeks ago we ate at Tony's for dinner and 1900 PF for both breakfast and dinner. 1900 PF were wonderful for both meals. I was partial to breakfast while my boyfriend preferred the dinner. I quite liked Tony's. I had the lamb and it was very tasty. The tiramisu was fabulous also. My boyfriend liked what he had well enough, though niether of us can recall what it was right now. Haha. I guess it was rather forgettable! Our kids (4 and 8) liked thier meals though I tasted my daughter's pizza and thought it was disgusting! If you're choosing between the two, I'd vote for 1900 PF but I think you'd be happy with either. They are very different places, so I guess it comes down to what you are looking for in a meal.

Quite honestly Tony's is move overpriced and with less quality than Olive Garden. It is not a great meal. My dd3 liked it on the last trip for the decorations. We are heading back in a few months and she asked to go to "Lady and the Tramps" restaurant. My husband never missed a beat and said it was closed permanently:rotfl2:. Guess he's not planning on going back... EVER!
I'd go with 1900 park fare before Tony's. Most other monorail restaurants have last minute availability at lunch time. Not sure when you are planning but I'd look at the Wave and Kona. IMHO they are both better than these options.

Park Fare is by far my favorite character meal. We have done the breakfast on the last few trips. This year we did the 11am seating which kept us full all day. I love everything I have had there, great character interaction, wonderful service.

Tonys is nothing extraordinary when it comes to taste, it's not horrible though, it's simply ok. Last time we ate there we had the steak and potatoes and I was disappointed because I asked for well done and that turned into burnt. The parm is eatable, but not fantastic, same goes for the pasta. Their garlic cheese bread is really good, that is probably our favorite thing on the menu. 1900 PF is nice, but it can get very noisy. Hope you have fun!:yay:

We really don't understand why people don't like Tony's. We had a great expereince there and enjoyed the food, decor, and service. The other wonderful thing was the location; you can't beat being in MK! We wouldn't hesitate to go again.

I would give it a shot and decide for yourself. There are actually many people on the boards who love this place as well.:thumbsup2

We ate at both Tony's and 1900 Park Fare on our last trip, both for dinner. Everyone, including our two picky kids, loved Tony's. My husband and I both had steak and it was cooked perfectly to order and was outstanding. 1900 Park Fare was another story. I would have been really upset if we'd not been on free dining. The food just wasn't that great. The characters, however, were wonderful and that's the main reason we were there. Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare was super when we ate there a few years ago.
