You heard of Black Friday - the Friday after Thanksgiving and when everyone goes shopping? That's what its like it WDW at Thanksgiving. Expect a crowd.

the day after Thanksgiving and stayed for 1 week. It was crowded that weekend but after Sunday it certainly emptied out.

Stay away from the Magic Kingdom on Turkey day and that weekend.

We've been three times Thanksgiving week and are returning this year. The crowds aren't that bad Monday- Wednesday- get your main stuff done here. Thursday and I've heard Friday are crazy at MK. We did MGM Friday this year and it wasn't that bad. I'll say that this year had the biggest crowds we've seen during this week. It was managable with FastPass, EE, and strategy. Just be prepared. I hope next year won't be as bad as this one- but if so we'll just plan accordingly. We did EE a couple of days and park hopped away from that park later- much better crowds.
It has always been perfect weather for us- 1 day of a 30 minute shower in three trips. We've always worn shorts with a light jacket for mornings and evenings.
The Christmas decorations are up and beautiful this week also.

We were at Disney World during Thanksgiving Week in 2000 and 2003. We felt it was much more crowded in 2003, than 2000. We encountered very long lines for the more popular attractions. However, the beautiful weather in November and the extended park hours made the crowds bearable. We had a great time and I would reccomend Thanksgiving week as long as you are prepared for the crowds.
