How are the restaurants on Harbor these days?

After reading about dining issues in the parks I think we'll plan to have lunch and/or dinner on Harbor some days. Are those restaurants pretty crowded or hard to get into, or are they running smoothly? I'm specifically wondering about Panera, Mcdonald's and Mimi's. Also if anyone has other restaurants to suggest , that would be appreciated.

We're staying 3 nights at Hyatt Place or Hojo and 3 nights at Disneyland Hotel.

I do not know how busy those are, but I can recommend Pizza Press, near Anaheim Hotel. Build your own pizzza type place.

As well, if you're willing to walk to GardenWalk, there are plenty of good restaurants there.
The downtown disney restaurants are better than in the parks, but can still get busy.

If the Earl of Sandwich is still in DTD by the Monorail platform, it is a nice place to grab a bite. Also it is reasonably priced.

The other place we always order from at least once but usually more is Marris Pizza – Italian. There are a couple of nice things about Marris, they have free delivery to the area and their prices are easy on the budget. One of their large pizzas will feed my crew as they relax in the hot tub after a long day in the parks. Warning... If you order a pepperoni pizza, you will find the pepperoni buried under a layer of cheese. They are very very popular and delivery times can be up to 1 to 1.5 hours. We will call and check on their delivery timing a couple of hours before we are calling it a day in the parks so we know how much lead time to allow for an order. The other thing we like to do is order food right before we head to the airport at the end of trip. It is so nice to have a nice meal for the long trip home.

Thanks so much! I will try Marris pizza for sure. We'll be at DLH for 4 or 5 nights and I hear food options are not good there, so it's great to know of a place than can deliver. I'll try Earl of Sandwich, too, if they're still open in January.

Pizza Press looks like a good option, too.

I want to try out Earl of Sandwich for my Dec trip!
I was wondering though, are their sandwiches good if I buy them and keep in the fridge for say, breakfast the next day?

Thanks :)

If you have no way to reheat the sandwiches, I think they taste better if you just left them out rather than put them in the fridge. But that's only if you buy the sandwich at night and eat it for breakfast. I wouldn't leave it out too long.

If you want to do that, tell them not to toast it. If it's just essentially a cold deli sandwich, it will keep well in the fridge overnight for breakfast the next day. Do NOT leave it out more than an hour at room temperature unless you want a nice case of food poisoning.

I ordered Marris pizza last week and they delivered to the Disneyland Hotel. I met them at the front area of the Fantasy Tower and took it back to the room. It was delicious and also got eaten for breakfast!

There are microwaves in each tower in the ground floor vending rooms. Warm up that sandwich!! Or pizza! Marri's is great.

Thanks! I've been wondering if they deliver to the rooms or if you meet them downstairs. Can't wait to try it.

If you want to eat outside the park there are the good options as mentioned. However, we have had no problems getting food (QS and snacks) in the park when we have wanted. So if you are only planning to eat outside because you don't think you can get food inside, I would take that into consideration.

That is part of it. I've heard it can be hard to get meals if you don't have reservations. I do have some for every day just in case. I also want to be able to order food at DLH because when we were there in 2019 there were some nights that we just wanted to stay in for dinner after those long park days.

Thanks for the update on the food situation at the park, I was thinking I'd have to bring in granola bars and not even be able to find a pretzel. We usually do mostly QS when we're there, especially Hungry Bear, Jolly Holiday and Plaza Inn. I want to get back to French Market, too! There are also so many places I want to try at SCA, like Flo's.

Just to assure you it can be done, I've been four times since mid-October on a weekend date—including this past Saturday—and have been ok without a single dining reservation. (Correction - one trip we did do lunch at Lamplight.) We mobile ordered everywhere except Plaza Inn for dinner after the parade. And only placed an order over 30 minutes in advance once. (We were in line for an attraction and started thinking about lunch from two separate places so figured might as well put the orders in since our desired times were available and we had to coordinate two locations.) Our longest wait once hitting "I'm here, prepare my order" was 10 minutes once at Cocina Cucamonga. But over the course of these visits, we've eaten at Hungry Bear, Jolly Holiday, Plaza Inn, Galactic Grill, Refreshment Corner, French Market, Smokejumpers, Pacific Wharf, Tropical Hideaway, Tiki Hut, Cocina Cucamonga, Award Wieners, Flo's, Pyms, Red Rose Tavern, plus tons of churros and other snacks. (I'm probably forgetting some places lol.)

I'm in no way trying to invalidate the experiences of those who've had problems with mobile ordering or dining in general. Those instances are real and widely found; it's not just a few people sharing those experiences. I just wanted to let you know that as someone who typically doesn't reserve sit-down dining, we haven't had problems getting food in a reasonable way or time since our first reopening visit back in May. (That time the wait at Bengal BBQ was easily 25 minutes after arriving.)And the listed return times for mobile have improved significantly since then. So prepare, but hope for the best as I don't think you'll need to resort to granola bars.

Having said all that, the popcorn lines are LONG. (Luckily that's one item we don't tend to get!)
