Going for the first time during february. Will be there Feb 4 - 11. How will the crowds be?? Long lines at rides?? Still need ressie's for meals?? How is the weather??

Last time we went it was an august trip. So we have experienced the World during a busy time when all meals were reserved 90 days out and if you weren't at the park at opening you were faced with incredibly long lines at popular attractions.

We are hoping that going at this time of year will be a little less hectic with short to non-existant lines and less overall crowding.

Thanks for all replies

We will be there Feb 5 - 12!!! This will be our third year going at this time. There will be cheerleading and dance competitions, but the crowds should still not be bad, but you will see them. Mardi Gras folks were there for that week this year, but I do not believe the Mardi Gras crowd will be there in 2006.The weather has been beautiful for our past two trips...so I think that the first week of Feb. is a great time to go.

Have a wonderful trip!!!

Last year we were there 2/2 thru 2/9, we had Mardi Gras, Daytona 500 and the Super Bowl going on all at the same time! This year should not be too bad, as there is no Super Bowl in Florida, I think Daytona is later in the month and I wish there were going to be Mardi Gras people there this year!! I think everyone would rather have them in the parks instead of being displaced all over the country!! They were a lively bunch of people! alot of fun! As far as the Trip Planner they said the week we are going(2/8 - 2/15) is going to be crowd level btn 5 - 7?? So I do not know, I do know that Presidents weekend is going to be busy after we leave! So if anyone has any idea why so busy? Valentines day, I can't imagine would be a crowded day, but I have never been there at that time! Just go and have a good time! You are at DISNEY!!!! :flower: :flower:

The Daytona 500 is February 19...and I completely forgot about the Super Bowl being there last year...should not have forgotten, since we watched it from our room @ POFQ. Woo Hoo!!! It should not be near as busy as last year, though I agree that I wish the Mardi Gras Revelers would be there...they deserve a trip to WDW more than anyone!!!

My family (DH, DD8, DD5) and I will be there for our first time 2/8-2/14! I know it is the slow season, but I too, wonder about the crowds!? I have been driving myself crazy gathering as much info as possible about Feb. in WDW. Do you reccomend following the touring plans, like in the Unofficial guide, or can you "wing it" a little more? Love to hear all the experts opinions! Thanks!

Based on having been there several times during 2/4 to 2/11 time period, I would expect that, early in your trip, the crowds will be moderate. By 2/11 you will probably see a noticeable increase, as the Wash. Birthday travelers start arriving and the hoards for the Daytona 500 start accumulating. I do think you will miss the masses of humanity :smooth: though...good luck

We went at that time one year and had no problem with crowds. Plus we drove down to Cypress Gardens and Bok Tower Gardens one weekend and had the bonus of picking up fresh citrus fruit that was still in season! Sweet as candy!
