My DH is saying we should cancel a night at our DVC to get FOTL passes because he thinks it will be crazy on the days we are wanting to go....which is Jan 7 8 or 9. Is it still pretty heavy from the winter break crowds on those days>

We went during that time frame earlier this year and it wasn't all that bad. We always got to the parks before opening and hit the big attractions many times before the crowds started to build. We saw The Simpsons, MIB, Hulk and Spiderman get up to hour waits later in the afternoons.

This was many years ago, but in Jan 2001 we went that same week and I thought DH rented the park out for us. I think the only ride that we waited for was the Dueling Dragons. Otherwise we just walked onto everything.

Disney was pretty much the same too if you were planning heading over there too.

The only problem we ran into was that is was very cold. Around 40 degrees and DH had to buy a winter hat (yes they had a little stand selling them) because he was so cold.

That should actually be a pretty slow period, the holiday crowds will be gone and the heavy winter/spring crowds don't start until around Presidents Day (mid Feb). Go 'Noles!!
