Dave, you look like you are a born natural with that camera! I love the night shot of the Savanna too! I'm VERY familiar with how dark it really is and you did excellent work with the tripod! Very very nice, you should be very proud! One of these years we need to coordinate a trip where we are both down there around the same time so we can meet up one night and go out shooting with the tripods
Also, congrats on the new job! Getting nervous about it yet? Good stuff and the fact that there wasn't even a second interview is downright awesome. Says a lot of good things about your character!

Yay she updated!

All of the surprises were awesome, getting to the resort by town car was great because it was quiet, relaxing and because we were 2 hrs delayed, so this was much quicker than Magical Express. I loved taking pics outside but there were so many bees and bugs flying around, not to mention it was already so hot and humid that day (a recurring theme).

So my news.....I have worked for the same guy for 9.5 years now and this has been my only job ever, I started when I was 16. The company is a lot smaller now and there has been a possible chance of redundancy looming over my head, so in December I had a job interview, my first actually as I walked right into my current job. It went great and on Wednesday I was told they didn't want to see me for a second interview, but they wanted to offer me a job, which I have accepted and will start on the 30th January! I am a mixture of excited and scared at this point but it's more money which means we can move quicker and start saving for mortgage deposit and future Disney trips.

He should have been with me in November 2010. I went out to take some pics at the lighthouse near the Beach Club around 1:30am. Standing on the pier, something BIG made a ruckus in the water underneath my feet. I think it was an alligator. Freaked me out being there by myself!

Even better that you got upgraded at AKL to club level - what great pixie dust! I loved the feeling of that resort when we visited it during our trip.

I love that first pic in your second update - it looks beautiful as do the rest of your AKL pics - I would love to stay here one day.

The view of the Savannahs is just perfect isn't it? We have spent a lot of time out on these balconies, when we stayed there.

AKL is a beautiful resort, the Imagineers did a stand up job

We loved our room, was really spacious and I loved being able to sit on the balcony and have the savannah as my backdrop

Thanks We are the same as you about location to MK and Epcot. I hate the bus transportation at Disney and being that AKL is purely bus it does put you off. But after having stayed here I am willing to overlook the bus situation and allow a little extra time than we normally would. I think Dave said that MK isn't that far, maybe a 20min ride, so not too bad.

Defo check out Boma, we have been for dinner and breakfast and enjoyed them both

Lol I didn't see as many as I wanted too, but then we weren't there for very long in the morning. I did get a bit geeky and start ticking off all the species I saw on the sheet they give you at check in
