How are the crowds?

We arrive in one week and I was wondering what the crowds have been like so far this summer. Anyone notice anything unusual?

Based on the last 2 years, its feels slow since most APs are blocked.

However, its still considered busy i guess in a way, where there are more people on rides since compared to last year, there are actually a lot more rides shut down due to refurbishment.

We were just there Tuesday through Friday (7/14-7/17) and these were the average wait times during the day:

Space Mtn: 55 mins
Indy: 60 mins
Splash Mtn: 75 mins
Thunder Mtn: 15 mins
Pirates: 10-15 mins (no wait in the evening)
Buzz Lightyear: 15 mins
Star Tours: 10 mins
Monsters Inc: 10 mins
Soarin: 40 mins
Toy Story: 20 mins
Screamin: 15-30 mins

We got a spot in front of the castle for the fireworks at 8:15pm. Fantasmic was very crowded; we watched the 10:30 show.

We got a lot done in the first 2 hours the park was open each day. Plus, it was cooler in the morning so I'd definitely recommend being at the gate 30 mins before opening and taking advantage of those first 2 hours.

I will arrive next Sat (July 25). I was wondering the same thing and how it compares to the crowds customary to WDW is July. I need to check the hours they are open and when Fantasia is scheduled twice a night.

When they are unblocked Im going. I hope and pray its not a mad house again!!

Which rides are down for refurbishment? I only saw Pinochiccio, 50 years and Orange Stinger on the Disneyland website.

We were just there (Thurs thru Sun.) and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was perfect in the morning with low crowds and cooler temperatures and short FP return times. DH and I were selective about our rides - since it was just the 2 of us. But we rode everything we wanted to and went back to the Hotel for a rest every day. We used our FP's gathered from the morning and didn't wait for anything in the evening.

We had Fantasmic dessert seating on Thurs. night and that was great. We went to Cafe Orleans for dinner on Fri. night. Make sure you ask for inside or under an umbrella, we were the only table just under the big tree and figs kept falling onto me or the table (kinda gross). Nothing landed in our food, it just kinda bugged me. The food was good, though.

We tried Cove Bar in Ariel's Grotto on Thurs. afternoon and had Lobster Nachos. It was a great place to sit and rest and the nachos are great and huge, so share. It will be even prettier there when the lagoon is filled back up and you can see the water instead of construction. But, the construction is progress, so it is fun for me to see.

I actually liked being there in the summer, I like the extended hours and spending the afternoon resting in our hotel room (in the air conditioning) and going back to the Parks later to use our FP's and getting right on the 75 minute standby line rides. I liked that I could see fireworks everyday, if I wanted to, and I could wait for Fantasmic, if I wanted to. We didn't have kids to worry about, so I am sure my attitude might change, if I was worried about whether they were tired or needed a break from the heat, or had enough water.

I went down there on Saturday July 18th. It was like a ghost town, disney style.
I got there at 2pm. 5 lines were open to parking, one had no cars in it. Walked onto tram, no wait to check bags, walked straight up to entrance, no one waiting, 2 CMs talking to each other cuz no one in their lines. Got on double decker bus cuz no one on bottom so we sat with driver. It was so strange. Lines were non-existent. I thought "Hey, what's going on?"

It was really really hot though!
It's summertime, so no rides are down for refurbishment. 50 years is being changed back to Lincoln, the Orange Stinger is going away to become the Band Concert swings (don't know real name just know the cartoon), don't know whats up with Pinocchio.

Pinocchio was open the 14th-16th b/c my DD4 rode it about 10 times! It was her favorite.

We found last Tues/Thurs to be really crowded at DL...by midday hard to push the stroller in places! Weds though was nice...saw the fairies at opening with no wait, rode everything in fantasyland in the first hour or two that we wanted multiple times except Peter Pan, which always had a 30+ minute wait and my DD's wouldn't wait that long when they had so many other less crowded options around. Stayed until after lunch and got a lot accomplished. Came back in the evening though and wow! Big change...very crowded and F! was packed 2 hours ahead of time.

DCA Thursday evening was much nicer..less crowded and we were able to get great seats for the ELP.

We were there the 12th- the 18th. I was literally shocked at the low level of crowds compared to last summer. The weather was warm, but quite tolerable with the misty mates. I would never go in the summer w/out them!! In fact, while waiting in line for some rides, DBF and I were misting others around us, they were soooo thankful!!lol! Monday was our busiest day, followed by Friday evening. We had a 5 minute wait for many rides like Haunted Mansion and PoC. Shocking!!!
what a wonderful time we had,, Love that place!!

Attendance is low but we are going through a major heat wave now. Plan accordingly.

Wednesday the 15th was just lovely. We got there around 6 and never waited in single line to get in, get our passes renewed, or eat dinner. Then we got an awesome seat for EP about 20 minutes prior. I was shocked... makes me think I should avoid summer less and spring more now!
