Hi,
We leave for wdw on Sat  ...just wondering if anyone is there now or has come back recently can tell me what the crowds are like...we have gone at this time of year in the past and it's been minimal ride waits which is why we love going....my husband is wondering if because of the economy we'll be the only ones there but judging by the trouble people are having getting hotel ressies, i don't think that's the case....what are you all seeing?
TIA

We just got back last night. The crowds were very low every day except for Saturday. The bus driver on Sunday said the MK reported 44,000 at lunch on Saturday and I believe it. I don't know about the MK on Monday...we were in Hollywood Studios and Epcot...but Monday was a holiday for many people. We went to the MNSSHP on Friday, October 10th and were pleasantly surprised at the low crowd. We got to ride everything that was open with little wait.

It did not seem that the ecomony had any impact of travel to WDW. Our plane was full coming and going of lots of Disney vacationers.

We were there from Oct 6th -10th and compared to last oct I thought it was very crowded. Last year the only ride we needed a fast pass for was soarin due to wait times being only about 20 mins. This year wait times were 45+ mins for many rides. Just utilize fast passes and have a great trip!

This time of year is a great time to visit all of the parks. Lines and crowds are usually at a tolerable level and the weather is pretty comfortable. I will note that Monday (no matter what time of year) is always a BUSY day at Disney's Magic Kingdom. I think that people tend to arrive on weekends and make that their first stop at the beginning of the vacation.

I hope this helps!

The day after the 13th (Columbus day) was very light, hardly any wait times for any attractions that I saw. That being said, as we got closer to the weekend the crowds got heavier. As we were leaving POP yesterday morning, every single bus stop for the parks had at least 2-3 buses full of people waiting in line, which was not what we were used to the entire week. Normally, one park line would be longer than all the rest, but on Friday all of them were long and this was around 11am.

We were in Disneyworld from Wed Oct 15 thru yesterday Oct 19 and it was CROWDED!!! We were very surprised. Without fastpasses some standby lines were 60-90 minute waits. It was wall to wall people....and very warm. So much for my going in the fall plan. None the less...we had a great time!

We heard from others that it was Canadian thanksgiving break along with European fall break. We heard MANY Scottish and Irish accents in every park. Wondered if Columbus day last Monday made people plan for a long week off?

My mother in law has a friend there now and they are reporting that it is very crowded there.

considering the week, it is pretty busy, but the crowds will start to minimize following Halloween, for about two weeks. Then for the first week in December it should be fairly quiet. Otherwise you are looking at crowds until the second week in January.
