How are the crowds August 6-15??

I can't seem to get my trip dates nailed down! I wanted to go the last week of August but my kids school is starting early this year. They get out May 24th so I thought we could go the last part of May/first of June. Well, I just found out that my step daughter doesn't get out of school until June 6. My husband is going to take a couple of summer classes that run from mid June through Mid July. This is getting pretty frustrating. It seems the only time we can go is the first half of August. What should I expect in the way of crowds? We are planning to stay a POP. How much time do I have before it sells out?

We're going Aug. 3-12 and crowds are estimated at "8" every day except one, which is a "9". That means peak wait times (for the stand by lines) are expected to be about 80 minutes for Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Railroad most days of our trip.

Pop is a pretty big resort - I don't know if it is typically sold out in August or not. We have stayed there in January and October and really liked it.

We were there on those dates in 8/05. The lines were pretty long in most places. We did OK by being at each park at opening time and seeing the attractions that were important to us first thing in the morning. If you get to the parks early and use Fastpass for popular rides, that'll help your days go smoothly.

The heat bothered us as much as the crowds did. Swimming in the afternoon was a must do on several days.

We always go in the first part of Aug. It is busy but not unbearably so. At the peak time of the day you will have to wait a fair bit if you don’t have a fast pass. We always head back to the room at that time for lunch and to rest. I think it’s a pretty good time to go.

What are the crowds like during the evening EMH? I was thinking if you go early & do stuff, then go to your room for a swim, then you could go back at night. Does anyone think that is a way to beat some of the crowds?
