We are looking at the possibility of staying in the family suite at the All-star this fall for a trip. It would be myself, dw, dd3 and dd2. Has anyone used these? What did you think? Any input would be appreciated.

We stayed in them this past December - one for DSis, DBiL and DNephew (6 mths at the time) and one for DMom, DDad and me (30 yrs old).

They are spacious accommodations ... it's nice to have two bathrooms and a kitchenette. It was nice to have a "real" living room separate from the bedroom.

My nephew slept in a pack n' play in the bedroom with his parents. This worked out ok, but the bedroom is smaller than a standard value resort room since part of what would have been a regular room is taken up by the kitchenette.

I slept on the sleeper sofa in the living room, it was comfortable enough.
The only concern I would have for you is that I'm assuming that your 3yo would be sleeping in the living room by herself - which is where the entrance to the suite is located. (Now, I'm assuming most three year olds don't know how to unlock a door, so this shouldn't be an issue. But some kids are pretty enterprising when they want to be.)

I just got back Wednesday from a stay in an All-Star Music Suite!:) They were very nice. I actually slept on the sofa fold-out with my 13yr old niece. It was a little firm for my liking, but not too bad. I've slept on much harder beds before. It was great having 2 tvs, 2 bathrooms, a fridge and a microwave. We ordered groceries and had breakfast in the room most days. That is a huge time saver! The bathrooms have the curved shower curtain which is nice too.

The only negative was the noise. We were on the 2nd floor, and we could hear all of the showers/toilet flushes from the room above ours. I wouldn't hesititate to stay there again, but I would request a suite on the top floor. There are elevators, so the stairs are not a problem.

I think your family will have a great time at the ASMu.

We stayed in the room as 4-2 adults and 2 kids. Great for us to have the bedroom and be able to watch TV at night while kids slept. Great for the mini kitchette. you get a coffee maker and mini microwave which was great for BF. The pullout couch was comfy for my DD 8 and the pull chair for DD4 was good. The 2nd bath was not a necessity for us but nice anyways. I dont think as an adult i would be comfy on the pull out if i had to share but otherwise it was good,

The Family Suites start at $184 a night duing value season.
Most of the Disney resorts (excluding DVC) charge extra for more than 2 adults in a room.
The Family Suites do not charge extra for extra adults.
1-6 adults can stay in the Family Suites for the same et price.
The Family Suites have discounts available also so if you keep your eyes open you just may snag a great deal.

Family Suite info:

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers (4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed Internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

My DH and I were "upgraded" to a Family Suite due to some complications at check-in for our trip in Feb. :woohoo:
It was just the two of us, but we gladly took the upgrade.
The room was very spacious, clean and would house a family for a week perfectly.I can imagine having the option to close a door for a napping child
(or sleepy adult)could make someone's vacation much more bearable. We liked the small kitchenette, the shower with the curved curtain rod, and the idea of 2 TV's.
Have a great time where ever you choose to lay your head!

We stayed in the Family Suites this past Dec. for four nights, with four adults - myself (20), my sister (17), and our parents. We haven't all shared one room in years, so I was worried this would feel cramped. But it was very spacious, and having the two separate bathrooms was great! I slept on the sofa bed myself, and DSis took the chair bed (don't ask me why she simply didn't share with me :confused3 I don't understand her). The kitchenette was great, but unfortunately we didn't use it much other than to keep a box or two of leftovers in the fridge and to eat breakfast in the room. The suites are a very close distance from the main building/bus stops, so that was very nice.

I think you and your family will have more than enough space in the Family Suite, and enjoy your trip! :thumbsup2
