How are masks on the Disney store online?

I remember we bought some when the started selling them. I did not like the material and they were way to small.
Have they improved any?

Yes! I bought some of the originals and they are OK - thick, not very breathable, run small. The new ones are great (IMO)! They are my most comfortable out of all of my masks - lightweight, breathable, run bigger, no gaps. Luckily, I was able to snag more from Shop Disney when they were on clearance when masks looked like they were on their way out. Now they're regular price online again. :sad2:

We purchased in the second offering and have been very happy.
Read multiple reviews about the first release being too small. We didn't have that issue with the second realease.

I have both the first version and the current version. The current masks are much better, both in comfort and fit.

Oh good thanks all! Do you think they run big now?

I feel like they run more true to fit? My daughter wears a small Disney mask, but the youth ones at Old Navy were way too big (mainly in the ear loops)

I'm glad to hear the new ones are better. We're prepping for our trip to WDW this weekend and pulled out the original ones we bought when they first released. Man those things were thick and breathability is horrible. Planning to buy the new ones on site when we get there and happy to hear they're better material.

Yes we got some of old ones way to small and thick! I couldn’t even wear them because they were to small gave them to a 9 year old.

They run small. The larges were too small for adults.

The old style ran small, but the new style, the larges don't fit me. I have to wear a medium....which I didn't find out until I ordered larger sizes the second time and ended up with 2 sets of masks too big for me and 2 sets of medium masks for my daughter that I ended up wearing :rotfl2:

So you usually wear a large but medium fit? I wear about a medium so I’m guessing get a small?

Yea I bought ours like a year ago. We finally got to use them last week.

I have the current version and they are my best fitting and most comfortable masks! I’m a petite adult and these masks are the only ones I found that I don’t need to make an alteration for the strap to fit correctly.

I have a ton of them, but I don't like the ear loops. They are just too thick for my ears. This is also difficult if you wear glasses, like my daughter or myself occasionally. I suppose it's a matter of preference.

We like them. There are 4 sizes and guidelines for measuring. Both of my kids (9 and 12) got M, my husband and I got L, they all fit. I suggest using the measurements they give to find the right fit for your face.

I'm not sure what size mask I usually wear as I don't wear them often enough to need a lot (WFH and waaaaaaaaaaay too much Target to go/Amazon Prime). But the original iteration, I blindly bought mediums which barely fit so the next time I bought larges, only the newer ones are too large for my face. I ended up giving my old mediums to my daughter and the large ones I bought went to my husband.

I bought the first kind that came out and the newer kind. The first was small and too thick, ended up donating, but the ones currently available are great! Good size, stretch for the loops, fabric breathes. I use them all the time as I find them the most comfortable of all the kinds out there, even paper which I feel doesn't even breathe as well and I feel hotter with in warm weather.

I purchased the new masks for my husband and I when they were on sale, for our upcoming trip (anticipating their return by our trip). I love them. Super soft and really comfortable. I purchased Large for both of us as I found the Medium in a local Disney Store and they seemed too narrow from ear to ear. I washed all the masks and put mine in the dryer and let my husbands air dry. Mine shrunk up just enough to make them fit a bit more comfortable. These are mine: If you have to wear masks at Disney, might as well make them cute!

Well I'll say that I dislike the Disney masks because they are basically shaped like a square (no shaping/contouring) and for that reason they tend to shift up into my eyes which is extremely uncomfortable.

We use the current Disney version for running, if that tells you anything. I'm also wearing them to run a kids day camp in 95 degree heat.

Yep, you still get sweaty under them, but all of you is sweating (and luckily we don't have to wear them 100% of the time outside at camp). They are better than my other favorite masks (nicely fitted double cotton) which just absorb it all and cling to you in the heat.

They are more breathable than many masks, which makes them slightly less protective in both directions, so I would choose something else for truly close quarters or prolonged exposure (subway, airplane, drs office or any other waiting room), but they do pass the candle test.

When we went down in May and were wearing masks outside and inside on property, I figured out how to install a wire in the Disney masks. Big thing to know: the thread is all one piece. Snip it and the whole mask comes apart. So what I did was sew tightly around the hem on either side of where I was going to create an opening for my wire and THEN snip those stitches to slide it. Note: I use flat nose bridge strips (bought a pack of 100 last fall), and it's possible if you were using actual wire, you could just slip it in between the stitches and not have to cut at all. I haven't tried that.
