How are December fast passes going?

I don't think crowds are going to be that crazy that week. Christmas is on a Monday so most schools are still in session the week before Christmas.

Disney just offered a big holiday package for that week so it's clear they aren't seeing the demand they were expecting.

For another check, try to book a hotel from the 11th-15th. Next to nothing available. Now compare that to the 18th-22nd. Availability pretty much everywhere.

This would be amazing for us, if true, as we’re there Dec 18-22 for our first trip and i’ve been dreading the crowds!

This is what worries me. I'm going the 11-16 and resorts have been booked a while. Meanwhile Christmas seems wide open. There was some talk of a glitch in the booking system but who knows if that was the case.

My FP+ opened today. We are doing AK at the 60+6 day mark and there were tons of FP+ available for FOP. Also got 7DMN for all 3 of our MK days. There was no problem getting anything!

Did you happen to notice if there is a FP option for Illuminations on NYE? We're going 12/30 - 1/6 so my window doesn't open for a few more days.

It was listed as “unavailable”. I was thinking of booking it.

I tried, and failed, to get FOP on day 61 (December 21) at 7 AM eastern the day that it was available. This morning, I checked at same time for FOP for December 22 and failed. I'm assuming that it won't be available for the next 2 and a half weeks that we will be at Disneyworld (actually in a timeshare offsite)but will continue checking until I reach the maximum of 7 days worth of FP's on my AP's. On our one Animal Kingdom day so far, I chose the river journey and have tried 3 times so far to switch to FOP over 15 minute intervals, with no success. The question is; am I wasting my time? I would think that most people getting FOP would hold on to it until at least the day that they would be going to Animal Kingdom. If I don't get it, we will RP that day and try to be near the front of the line. I had no problem getting 7 Dwarfs but around 3 instead of 11-noon. I'll keep trying to switch times. Everything else was no problem, even with the times.

I didn't get FOP on my Fp open date. I checked several times a day and finally saw one open about 10 days later. Also, if they extend hours there may be more available then.

Don't lose hope! I'd keep checking. I was able to find 7dmt and also saw some availability for FOP pop up from time to time when I checked for a few days after my booking date. Trips get re-arranged, canceled, or day-to-day plans just may change for some people. Wish you the best of luck!

I saw a few years ago there was a thread where people could coordinate/notify other DISers when they were getting rid of FPs for A&E. Is that something that could be done for FOP ((similar to how there's a thread for cancelling ADRs in December)? I've been looking for a week for one FP for FOP on Dec 19 with no luck.

I think the party effect ends around the time that availability picks up. The excessive number of Christmas parties killed fast pass availability. We worked out some math on it last week. It was profound.

I wasn't able to get it. I know 2 others going the same time, they both got FoP. If there is hope, just check a million times a day? Or wait until just a few days out?
