How are crowds on weekends in Aug. or Sept?

I'am thinking about planning a weekend trip. Any advice on if a weekend in Aug. or Sept. would be best, crowdwise? I really would like to go Aug 23rd & 24th or Sept. 27th & 28th. Are weekends better in Aug. then the weekdays? I have read in a Disney book that vacationers use the weekends for travel time in Aug but, in Sept. weekends are more crowded. If anyone has been there during this time let me know. Thanks

I've never visited WDW during August or September. I will be there in August this year, though.

planning on being there in Aug this year also. I've been before and it is more crowded on weekends but not overly. I would think September would be better though.

What is it we can wear to id fellow dis boarders???

I would really like to go in Aug. Maybe if I try during the weekdays instead of a weekend. Has anybody been there the last week of Aug.? How was the crowds?

We have been there every other year in the last week of August and it is EMPTY during the week!

The Fla kids are all in school and most everybody else is preparing for school. The only problems are that the park does tend to close earlier and the refurbishment starts that week. But "NO LINES" to speak of.

SATURDAY WARNING: I've never seen Mainstreet so empty as in September (late August is pretty tame, too). But Saturday in the MK, all bets are off. I've found Saturdays in late September not profoundly different than Saturdays in June.
