How are crowds and weather in May?

I was there the first week of May last year. It was hot, but not unbearably so, my main problem was it was peak love bug season, and it was disgusting, we couldn't enjoy our patio because it was swarming with bugs. Never had the pleasure of that experience before, and I hope to never have it again, LOL!

We only had one day of rain in the week we were there.

The love bug situation sounds awful! Don't they spray or do something to curb the bug population?

^^ I think Disney sprays for bugs perhaps at night since bugs were never a problem at the parks when we were there last year. We did see more bugs around the hotel, but since they don't bite like a mosquito or bee, it more of a nuisance then anything else. We went in early May, 2019 and it was wall-to-wall people at both Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on a few of the days. I guess some people's idea of 'crowded' must be different from ours. When it is one large mass of people and you can't easily walk around, that is sure my idea of crowded. Was also had a few days that were very hot.

As I recall, it rained for a brief time on a few of the days, but we did some of the indoor rides or went shopping when that happened. Get the impression Disney is crowded most of the year, so what happened on a particular week last year, may/may not be your experience this year.

Lovebug season is late april May and then late August-September. Youll need to wash your car when you get home if you drive.
