I need ideas. We will be there in a month & I just found out my daughter's BF wants to propose to her. He has asked my help in planning and keeping it a surprise.
While we are extremely happy about this, I'm a little panicked about getting it together in such short time. I want it to be memorable and perfect for her.
Please give me ideas. Is there a coordinator at WDW who can help? How do I go about enlisting cast members help? He will propose the first day we are there, so I have to do all this long distance.
Thanks,
~~G (a surprised but happy Mom)

My Fiance proposed in the rose garden, next to the castle, during the fireworks! It was magical! Good luck to your future son-in-law!

FI proposed next to the wishing well by Cinderella’s Castle (full story is in my PJ. Link in my sig). He asked a woman near by to take pictures. He originally tried to enlist a cast member, but there were none in sight. We got lucky because she took awesome pictures!

My husband planned a surprise weekend to WDW & proposed at midnight in front of the castle after the park closed. The park was almost empty & it was incredibly romantic :lovestruc

There are ways to get Disney to help in the proposal though. He could ask a Photopass person to help or to make sure they are available in the spot where you propose to capture the moment. You can also book an engagement dinner package at CRT-they will give window view seating and deliver the ring on an engraved glass slipper. You can also book a Disney Floral package and have the hotel room decorated and propose there.

I"m sure no matter how it happens, it will be incredibly romantic in WDW!!!:lovestruc

One of my friends asked a caricturist to draw them. The caricturist ended up sketching them with him on one knee proposing. So when she saw the picture she saw him in real life on bended knee with the proposal! Such an awesome idea!

I love the drawing picture one, she will never suspect anything:) Good luck and happy engagement to your daughter and future son in law:)

My DF waited till after Wishes fireworks to ask me. It was spur of the moment. He'd actually planned it for Valentines Day(two days later) but after the awesome day we had and the magic of Wishes, he couldn't wait any longer.

My husband proposed in front of the castle during Wishes. It was perfect, every one was looking up at the fireworks and he turned me to face him and proposed. After the show we announced it to my family (they were in front of us) and everyone around us started to clap. Afterwards we went and found a photographer and got some great pictures with the castle behind us, they even had him get down on one knee and reinact it. We used those pictures as our save the date pictures.

Today!

I can't figure out how to put the picture in the post, but here's the link. ;)

We went for Coffee to our favourite bakery and when I walked in this cake was in the window of the display case! We already knew we were getting married but DF had never asked me formally and wanted to. The staff at the bakery were very excited and... I said yes! :) I imagine they could do the same on a Disney Cake. I was very surprised and thought it was very sweet. And now I have a whole lot of cake to eat.:love::love:

What a cute idea. We might could pull that off. I might could arrange something at the candy shoppe when you first walk into MK.

This past May we got engaged in front of the Castle

We went to dinner at Narccoosee's then to MK for magic hours. During the Electrical Parade we made our way over to the photopass photog in the Rose Garden. After the usual 4 or 5 photos, Bob asked if we could do "just one more"

He then got down on one knee with a ring! The photog captured the ENTIRE thing and took about 10 more pictures. It was wonderful to have the entire thing on film. And there was no one around since everyone was watching the parade.

the pictures came out amazing, too. :)

I'm glad to hear that the photogs are good. I'm hoping to get a PP to take the pics. I will try to, but I know I'll probably be crying like a baby. He wants some privacy, but wants us close by to be a part of it.

definitely have him try to do it in front a photopass photographer then! This way everyone can really enjoy the moment without watching it through a viewfinder ;)

plus, you can get the photos printed while you're still down there if you don't buy the whole CD. we purchased the CD but had two 5x7s of him on one knee printed and bought frames for both of our moms :)

Chad proposed to me right in between Bongos and Wolf Gang Pucks Cafe at Down Town Disney. =) Nothing big, nothing fancy and it was very private. This is our bench (lol) where we would spend long nights after work staring out to the waters. It was the beginning of our trip in July of last year and it was all yucky and sticky and sunny and when I sat down, I had no idea what was going on. Out of no where, he tells me to hold out my hands and he placed a black box in them. He started to say how much this bench means to us and how he'd love to spend the rest of his life with me. I opened the black box and I said yes! He then handed me "just engaged" buttons to wear all week long. We're about 30 pounds lighter now HAHA WOOO!

He proposed in the Rose Garden next to the castle almost a year ago in March. We got a Photopass person to take some pictures and then he said 'Can we get a few more?' and got down on one knee =] we had our friends with us who got video of the entire thing! it was absolutely perfect =]:lovestruc

My fiance proposed at Cinderella's bronze statue (my favorite princess) behind the castle after the fireworks.

I'm liking the caricature idea, I think my daughter would really like that too. They could frame it (if we could get it home in good shape.) I'll tell future SIL to think about it.
Do you know if the artist would send it back to the hotel like the stores do when you buy something in the park? We would need a tube also.
