Our first park day is in Epcot on the final day of Osborne lights. Is it worth hopping over to DHS at dusk and then back before our 7:15 reservation at Rose and Crown to see the lights? How mobbed will that section be? (I don't do crowds well.) Is the display really so fantastic I just can't miss it or is it just another over the top light display?

Yes,worth it,but, with the O-Lights coming on at 6:00 PM,that will allow for a very short time to see them before you would have to walk or boat back to Epcot.

You can look up pictures online (or the Osborne Lights photo thread on the theme park community forum) to decide if you think it's don't miss or over the top, but I agree with WEDWDW - you don't have enough time since the lights don't come on until 6:00.

We just returned from our trip yesterday and saw them for the first time. In my opinion they are worth it and maybe even worth missing your dinner reservation if you've never seen them before. But like I said that is just my opinion. You may want to check with concierge when you arrive to see if they can move it. We were able to get a reservation at Ohana on this trip when we weren't able to get one online before by going through concierge.

I love the Osborne Lights, but it is very crowded. It is especially crowded right at 6, when they are first turned on. And I have to imagine that the last night might be even more crowded than usual. If you don't do crowds well, you may not enjoy the experience. I wouldn't call it just an over the top light display, because there's music and "snow" and I think it's very festive. But I think it's something you could miss, especially if you don't do well in crowds and will be worrying about getting back to Epcot for your ADR.

Coolest thing to do is look up at the lights and spin around as fast as you can. Best ride in WDW!!

Amazing and just got back the night before Thanksgiving. I am so happy we decided to go last min. (planned the trip in mid to late Oct.) The last time we saw them was in Jan. 2012. SO worth a trip to see them.

I would cancel Rose and Crown and make an earlier dining reservation at Epcot, then hop over to HS and stay for the evening.

Since Streets of America will soon be gone this is your chance to see the lights. They really are amazing. Don't miss out!

How late is DHS open that night? I don't think there is anywhere enough time to really see them then get back to Epcot for a 7:15 ADR. If DHS is open later, I'd go after dinner. Much less crowded later in the night.

I would give up the ADR instead of miss the lights.

Just got back from my first time. Yes it was crowded when they first turned on, but it was absolutely amazing to see them come on and watch them dance to Christmas Eve in Sarajevo. I may have shed a tear or two.

Nothing at WDW is a must-see. Nothing.

Are the lights cool? Yes. Am I glad I saw them? Yes. Would I change my first day plans to see them? Not necessarily.

If you are a huge fan of holiday lights, and go see the local displays in your home town, you should make a point of seeing the Lights, because they are impressive. If that's not your thing, don't upset the apple cart. As you are visiting after the actual holiday, you might not be all that into it.
