How accurate are the wait times...

They should match the wait times posted at the entrance of the attraction.

Agree. Spot on for the most part, though I see the lines are not what they are posted from time-to-time.

I see posted times say at 40 minutes, though we are on the ride in 15 minutes. I attribute this to communication issues between CM's to those CM's that change the wait times at the attractions, on the tip boards and obviously the mobile application.

Although not always completely in real time. Last trip we were at EE and the Safari listed wait time as 10 min so we hiked over there and by the time we got there it was a 40 min. posted wait! :headache: We had a dining ressie so had to abandon. This was late afternoon, not park opening.

Touring plans does a better job of giving both a posted wait time and an expected wait time if you're looking for both. MDE will always match (as others said above) what the posted times at the attractions actually are, but my experience is that usually the actual wait will be about 2/3 of the posted wait except in situations where something unusual happens (half of ToT goes down, a ride suddenly comes back up after being down due to rain, a Brazilian Tour Group of 100 enters a line).
