Sometimes I laugh here as the abbreviations are getting more and more difficult for me and I am a veteran Disney person.....I worry about the new people and how they are deciphering these abbreviations..

So how about this......we make a list of all our abbreviations as we think of them so that new people can refer to it occasionally and know what we are talking about.. Recently I could not for the life of me figure out FF and pm'd the OP, he laughed and told me he meant Flying Fish and I was laughing that I could not figure it out... sometimes it is right under your nose.

So any abbreviations you can think of to make it easier for some of us...myself included.

Great idea, Mackey! Sometimes I still have to stop and think about it too. Do you want just restaurant board related ones here? If so, it'd make a good sticky for the top!

CG-California Grill
HBD-Hollywood Brown Derby
CM-Chef Mickey's (or Cast Member)

crt=Cinderella's Royal Table
POFQ=Port orleans, French Quarter
CBR=Carribean Beach Resort
DD=Darling daughter or Disney daughter
DH=Disney Husband or Darling husband

That's a great link, thanks. I could never figure out what BTW meant and now I know it's By The Way. Dah!!! :confused3

You know what's not on this list that took me a while to figure out? ADR... Advance Dining Reservation.... I was used to it being called Priority Seating!! Duh on me!! :rolleyes:

okay, here's one I see frequently that isn't on the list. What does ITA stand for? TIA is Thanks in advance, but it isn't that.

So TIA. :rotfl: :rotfl:

It is hard to answer questions on this board if you do not know what the abbreviations mean....so in keeping with that, I have stuck this at the top and we can add to the list periodically as the abbreviations are getting more and more obscure..

Please add your Disney ones to this list.

This was a great idea, Marsha! :)

Some of these are on the list for the whole DIS site, but since they are specific to restaurants and used on this board frequently, I wanted to add them to this thread:

CP - This one can get confusing because it can mean either Crystal Palace or Candlelight Processional, but it's usually easy to figure out which based on what the post says.

CM - Chef Mickey's
BD - Brown Derby (this one had me stumped one day)
MM - Mama Melrose
YSH - Yachtsman Steakhouse
TS - Table service
CS - Counter service

DDP - Disney Dining Plan
DDE - Disney Dining Experience
RFC - Rainforest Cafe
LTT - Liberty Tree Tavern
50's PT - 50's Prime Time
WCC - Whispering Canyon Cafe
FDP - Fantasmic Dinner Package

HTH, TTFN! :teeth:

I put the list in my favorties for reference now..Thanks all so much!

mvmcp= mickeys very merry christmas party
KK=Kona Kafe
ttsr=tonya town square resturaunt
cp=crystal palace
dtd=downtown disney
dq=disney quest
rr=raglan road
fch=fultons crab house
cs=concourse steakhouse

I am so glad that you all agree that this is a necessary list so that we can all be on the same page. I gotta tell you I have been here a long time and lately you all have been stumping with abbreviatons. Maybe once we are through sharing our abbreviations...I will make one list and we can refer it to whenever needed.

Is the DISboard then going to update the list, so I can make a new "dictionary" printout?
CS now appears to have 3 possible meanings:
Counter Service,
Coronado Springs,
Concourse Steakhouse.

Yes please. I am new to these boards and sometimes feel like a real ******* although I do giggle to myself when trying to decipher.At the moment I'm stumped with MVMCP--- At least I think that's what I'm stumped with LOL

I think it's a restaurant, but I may be way off base :confused3 Thanks!

I've always thought it was Coronado Springs Resort. Someone else should confirm to make sure, though.
