Does any one have any info on this hotel? QUALITY SUITES MAINGATE EAST
5876 W. IRLO BRONSON MEM. HWY KISSIMMEE, FL 34746.

Is it nice? Any experiences worth sharing?? What's really around there?

We stayed there in 2000 or 2001. We had a 2-bedroom suite on the top floor. It was kind of old and somewhat worn but not a bad deal at the time for the price we paid. It included breakfast which was good but nothing fancy. They had a nice pool area but we were there off season and never went swimming.

It is in walking distance to Old Town and lots of shops and restaurants which is nice.

One problem we had was that 1 of the 2 elevators was out of service during most of our stay so the wait for an elevator was pretty long many times. Also, not all of the ice machines worked and there wasn't a working one on our floor.

Last problem was with the clientele. Even though our floor was non-smoking, several guests felt that didn't apply to them. Or they thought it meant they couldn't smoke in their room but they could stand right outside their door (or right outside our door) and smoke. We had a run-in with one of those folks when we reminded them that it was a non-smoking floor and we didn't care to have all of their smoke drift into our suite. We had to call security at least once as I recall.

Would I stay there again? No. There are far too many better choices including timeshare and condo rentals through Skyauction or at places like Windsor Palms for the same or even less money.

Well, I guess I'm glad I still have time and so it's back to the drawing board for me. I thought I was set. It's the first time we travel to disney, and we just want a nice hotel. So try the palms?

:scared1:

We also stayed there and I think we had the same worn out 2 bedroom suite.
It was a free upgrade. The place is not really that clean. The elevators where way too slow or not working so we used the stairs alot and they were nasty, very dirty and unkept. At one time this was a nice place but not now. The neighborhood was a little worriesome and when you walked over to the old towne area it really didn't get any better. The best part was the free :drinking1 at the managers reception and the pizza place over in old towne. I just had to put in my 2 cents. Good luck.

It depends somewhat on what you are looking for. How many people? Do you want a hotel with daily maid service or would a condo or timeshare be ok?

Personally, we don't care about maid service. In fact, we prefer not to have it. So we love renting condos or timeshares. Two places we've stayed recently are Windsor Palms and Orbit One Vacation Villas. In fact, we'll be checking in to Orbit One again on 11/5. Price-wise, you can't beat Skyauction. Seven days at Orbit One is costing us just $260 for a 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit. That has a full kitchen, washer and dryer, 3 TVs, Jacuzzi tub and more.

If you need more space, Windsor Palms has 3-bedroom condos, 3-bedroom townhomes and 3-6 bedroom single homes with private pools. There is also a community pool to use if you are in a condo or townhome.

I'm not one for fancy stuff. If it's clean and looks nice, that's fine with me. Maids, no... We've stayed at the howard thorton, is it, in dallas. That one had a loft upstaires, and it was nice. Nothing out of the ordinary, just nice. We are a total of 8 people 2 adults 2 children from Texas and 2 adults and 2 children from Michigan. We're gonna meet up there. So we are interested in getting something together but yet separate. I'm looking at skyauction. Are things realy the way they say there. I'm not big on purchasing things thru the net, and like everyone have iffy questions. I just don't see myself paying 1400 for a 2 bedroom suite at this hotel. Quality what??? Then after what I've read, nope...
Other issues are, we though we'd get something that offeres the free shuttles. We don't know the city, not sure about renting a vehicle or using the shuttles. How will we get from the airport to the hotel kind of thing. So many issues? What to do???
Any suggestion??? Send them all my way please...

severely :confused3 !!!
