How 'bout it?
Lately, I've been overwhelmed with health issues (involving me and my loved ones) and depressing news in general. Parents murdering their babies, infidelities, workplace massacres, the state of the economy...you've got the picture. Somedays there's hardly any "good news" to counteract the negativity.

So -- this is the place to share your good news with the rest of us! Whether it's a new job, new baby, successful surgery, found money, cancer-free diagnosis, or sharing a "paying it forward" story, please share it here! :thumbsup2

I'll start.
Earlier this week, my DD15 apparently dropped her Ipod in the hospital parking lot without knowing it. The next day, she got a message thru Facebook asking if she lost an Ipod at the hospital (her name is engraved on the back). Seems like some wonderful, honest 18-year-old guy had found it and searched her name on the internet and found her Facebook page. She was over the moon!!! Turns out he lives 3 counties away, but last night, he met halfway to return the ipod to my DD (don't worry -- Dad went with her!!)

My DD was so happy and surprised. She knew how easy it would have been for this perfect stranger to pocket the ipod, or sell it and walk away with an extra $100 in his pocket. Not only did he NOT do that, he took the extra step to searching for her to return it.

What a great kid!!!! :thumbsup2

That's a wonderful story!!
I really believe most people are just down right Awesome!!! But all those other ones get all the attention.
Where I used to work they would always tell us that someone who had a positive experience would tell an average of 5 people, but someone with a negative one would tell 10! I guess it's human nature to want to share bad news, while the good news just goes about it's business quietly in the background.
I think this is a great thread!

My DD14 middleschool basketball team went undefeated this season 13-0. Last night was the championship game and they got a great trophy. She played a great game and we are proud of her:thumbsup2

My firstborn turned 14 today, and she has become such a poised, confident, intelligent young woman, it just makes me feel good who she's growing into. :lovestruc

congrats to everyone else with good news! my DD studied very hard this week for TWO math tests; however, she did not do so willingly, it took prodding and nagging from me (she's 12, knows it all). anyway, she made 100 on BOTH tests AND she's being inducted into the junior beta club next week! YAY!

DH just walked in from Snowboarding at Blue Mountain and told me he dropped his keys somewhere on one of the trails but didn't realize it until he was looking to go home hours later. Well he went to lost & found and some good soul found the keys and turned them in for him. It would have been so easy for someone to walk through the parking lot hitting the button until they found our vehicle and then either stolen the whole thing or just taken all the electronics in it. It would have been equally easy for that person to just ignore the key and my poor DH would have been stuck waiting for AAA at night up on that cold mountain. Whoever it was had to stop having fun, pick it up then get off the slopes to turn that key in, we are so lucky an :littleangel: found our key.

We just heard today that Medicaid has awarded us a few more hours of nursing care for Christian.:thumbsup2 Weekends are particularly hard for us and this will REALLY help us.

I had my wallet stolen out of my shopping cart last Friday night. I was so mad because I had every piece of ID in it. I had to borrow money from my mom and dad to pay for groceries. It was extra frustrating because I am going through some family stuff with my ex SIL so it was just the icing on the cake for a horrible week. I cancelled all my cards and wrote out a list of everything that needed to be replaced. It wasn't a short list. My daughter was scared that someone was going to find our house and break in. Needless to say it was a giant headache.

After tossing and turning all night I went out to get my Saturday paper and guess what was in my mailbox? You got it, my wallet. With absolutely nothing missing. I can only guess that the person who took it opened it and saw there was no cash in it and tossed it aside. I wish I had seen the person who returned it so I could say thank you over and over again. Our paper has a random acts of kindness section and I wrote in and told my story. It definitely restored my faith in mankind. :cloud9:
