How about nap spots in Epcot, MGM & AK?

I was just reading the other post on good spots in MK for the kids to nap and got to wondering about the other parks. This will be our first time taking a baby so I could use some suggestions. Thanks.:)

At Epcot, Spaceship Earth does a pretty good job to get the children to go to sleep, and I would think that the American Adventure would too (not that either one is boring - they are both excellent, but the darkness tends to get to the kids).

I can't think of anything at the Animal Kingdom or Studios that would put a child to sleep. Maybe someone else can think of something.

In the Studios, Sounds Dangerous without headphones is a guaranteed snooze spot

Not familiar enough with AK or MGM.

EPCOT has LOTS of good places to sit, especially if they'll sleep in the stroller. Otherwise The Land or Living Seas in Future World. In World Showcase they have a very nice and quiet garden in Great Britian that's sort of hidden (probably not comfortable enough benches to sleep on though). Also, my kids have fallen alseep in the American theater (so has dh - lol!!) Of course you can also do the monorail thing - I really like the sound of that if they need to lay down (of course I would probably fall asleep too). If you're lucky though, and they'll sleep on the go in the stroller, there are so many wonderful shops in World Showcase to explore at your leisure. It's never the same when the kids are awake, or when they get older and stop napping, because they get bored with that stuff too quickly.

Great ideas, thanks. :)

These are all I could think of for MGM:

- the area by the water near Gertie's -- seems like there were tables and chairs there.

- the counter service place next to HISTK playground (I can never remember the name). It might not be expecially quiet but there are plenty of places to sit and it is out of the sun.

- picnic tables at Sunset Ranch Market

- or take the boat to an Epcot resort and hang out for awhile.

We aren't planning to do AK this trip but you never know so I would love to hear some for there, too. (And I haven't been to AK yet so have no personal experience with this park.)

Thanks, again.:)

Stay on-site and take a mid-day trip back to your room. It's air conditioned and MUCH cleaner than any bench or seat in any park.

The Wonders of Life pavilion in Epcot is a good choice, followed by Innoventions East (the benches across from that forestry exhibit are comfy and near restrooms). The Land and Living Seas are okay.

In World Showcase, there used to be a small bench inside the Mexico pavilion at the bottom part of the U-shaped indoor ramp that led you down onto the main floor. It's near an air-conditioning vent. It's dark, quiet, cool and out of the way. My brother used to love to rest there while collecting data in World Showcase.

The Stave Church in Norway is cool and dark, but too many people know about it to be a good napping spot. The gazebo in the UK isn't air-conditioned, which is too bad.

In Animal Kingdom, Tusker House or the gazebo behind Flame Tree Barbecue. There's also a nice rest area by the exit to Dinosaur.

In Disney-MGM Studios, try the Commissary. I've not done data collection in the Studios, so I've not been desperate to find ten minutes of shade and quiet. I'll ask my friends what they recommend.

It is a wonderful park!

Go to Rafiki's Planet Watch. It is a nice relaxing train ride there. Then go into the 3D Rainforest Sound Booth. It is pitch dark in there. Your baby will go out like a light!

After nap time, go to the petting zoo (also at Planet Watch) and let the baby pet some fuzzy animals!

Have a great trip!

PS. I posted this yesterday but I don't think it went. If it did sorry for the duplication!

a little off topic, but when my friend was feeling sick, we left him at the bathrooms outside of mgm and came back later where we found him asleep on one of the benches with his water pistol and pop stolen! how funny.
