Ok, who besides me LOVES to use the fast pass line? I actually LOVE the way some people look and whisper and even snicker I see people do toward me and it kind of makes me feel like a VIP!

Of course when I'm in the Stand By line then I am feeling that way about those in the fast pass line! LOL

On the Express Pass line at Universal we had a guy ROYALLY P O'd at us.

On Spiderman we passed him 4 times, he was livid. He was screaming at the attendants, "These people have passed us in line 4 times and we haven't ridden once yet".

Kinda felt bad for the guy, but, whatcha gonna do?

We just laugh at how some people snicker at us as we go by them in the Fast Pass line. I have even heard some people yell loudly at how it wasn't fair and we were all getting ahead of them. hmmmm, could have done the exact same thing people.

Ever try to explain it to someone and they just wouldn't listen or believe you???? I tried it once when there was a family trying to figure out what to do and what it was but they still insisted you had to pay for it, oh well.

Of course fast pass is great... the only thing is you don't get to play the video games in Space Mountain!

Little FP story:

Last year on the Space Mountain FP line, it was going down the hall and I was stuck by the video games area. Meanwhile, everyone on standby was coasting through without waiting and I was thinking what the @%*#?!

Soon enough the dudes in front of me started talking about it and one of them got out of line to check the Stand-By line. He came back waving his friends to go because it seemed like there was no stand-by wait.

However, luckily they didn't listen because the stand-by line was huge once we got into the big queue rooms. They would wave the FP line directly through to the ride while the snaking stand-by line had to watch us while giving us dirty looks.

I spit on the stand-byers as I walk by them. They're grateful I even acknowledge their existence.

OP not sure where you expected this thread to go but I can see where it headed.

Ok, maybe I'm INCREDIBLY. . . INCREDIBLY naive but I don't see anything that could possible cause a fuss with the post. . . I didn't say you MUST use a fast pass. . . I didn't say using a fast pass BEYOND THE TIME STATED or even say you're stupid if you don't use a fast pass. . . .

what am I missing here?

I felt very special using FPs. Some of the people in the standby lines looked at us like we must be celebrities!

The queue at BTMR is like going into the bowels of hell. I was walking through the not very long FP line, looking down and thinking I was glad I was bypassing all those poor souls crammed into the standby line.

I tried to give away FPs. Somebody thought we were selling something, possibly illegal, and walked away from us very quickly. Somebody else I tried to give them to said, didn't you have to pay for this? I hate to just take something you paid for.

Once while in Epcot, we were at Maelstrom and the stand by time said 45 minutes. I poked my head in and yes, there was a very long line. So we decided to grab a FP and head of to China for a bit and then come back. Well I didn't look at the FP return time so we got our FPs and looked to see when we could come back and the time was........ right now! So we strolled (ok maybe strutted a bit) past those 45 minutes worth of stand by people and right on the ride.

A little snarky, but going to say it: I heard somebody in the FP line once say that "Fastpass is a benefit for the literate." Made me chuckle a little. Then feel guilty for chuckling.....

Seriously, though, I don't think it's a benefit for those who *can* read...rather a benefit for those who *bother* to read.

I have never heard anyone snicker as I walked through the fastpass queue area past them standing in the standby queue. Perhaps I am hard of hearing*.

But I would, if I heard or saw discontent, stop and yell something like, "Let's have a show of hands, who has never tried to get a Fastpass?" Then, if applicable I would say "Your Disney experience is not complete until you have tried Fastpass at least once." And spend some time mingling with whomever wanted to learn more about Fastpass leaving room in the fastpass line for other fastpass holders to squeeze by me.

A year ago we were in DHS with my 6 year old niece and nephew. We had gotten FP's for TSM first thing in the morning, and were coming back around 11:30 when our FP window opened. The queue was about 70 minutes at that point, and the line was LONG!

We went through the FP entrance and my niece asked how come we were able to skip in front of all the other people waiting in line? I told her it was because Uncle Eric had gotten them Fast Passes first thing that morning, and now we'd be able to go almost to the front of the line.

They both started yelling, "Fast Pass! Fast Pass! Fast Pass!" as we made our way through the queue. Brought a proud tear to my eye! :thumbsup2

That is so funny because my DH often jokes about how he can't play the cool games in Space Mountain because we always get FP, and when we do do Stand By, which is early in the morning or late at night, the games are not going as we walk by :rotfl:. However, he would much rather walk past them in the FP line then have to wait an hour or more to ride the ride.

We took DD and her 2 friends one year. Well early in the day they did RNR in the singles line. All day I would get them FPs with (DH, DS and my ticket) for TOT and RNR. So they could ride multiple times. So sometimes I would have to walk all the way back over to get them. Well end of the day, and I am waiting outside of RNR, for the girls 1 hour later they came out, I am like :confused3 what took so long. Well DDs friend said, "lets use the single rider line, and save our FPs for our scrapbooks" :sad2: Well the single rider line wasn't moving very fast that afternoon. I let it go but I told them I was done with getting their FPs, they were on there own.:thumbsup2

This post warmed my heart and brought a tear to my eye... :rotfl:

If you are reading this board and this post, congratulations! You will most likely be providing your loved one(s) with a better experience than the vast majority of people that go to Disney.

I am also proud to say that I have NEVER.... EVER... used a fastpass less than 4 hours late... of course if the parks open 30 minutes earlier than printed on the Times card I also enter then, rather than waiting for the "Printed" time. I suppose that makes me a cheater also :confused3 THE PRINTED MATERIALS AT DISNEY IS JUST PAPER!!! THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS HOW THE CAST MEMBERS ARE INSTRUCTED TO REACT TO THE GUESTS!!!

In any case... while the change in FP rules are annoying to me since we are going at the end of March, we will adapt, and I will make sure my family has the best vacation possible. Might mean riding less attractions in the evening, more pool time, more (choke) waiting in lines for shows... but it will still be great!
