Our day began with a call from Stitch at 6:30 telling us its time to get up. I got up and ready first then went to get some juice in our mugs to drink before our 7:30 breakfast ADR. I learned the hard way to put a few more minutes between toothpaste and lemonade.
By the time I got back to the room Bonny was almost ready and within a few minutes we had Pal Mickey in hand and all three of us were on our way to brekkie. The day started off overcast but very nice
not too hot or humid at all.
We got to the Poly about 20 after 7 so we didnt have to wait too long before we were seated. In the first pic you can see how crowded the Kona Café was
good thing we had the ADR.

We each ordered the Tonga Toast as it looked so good and we had read so many good things about it. Our server told us we werent allowed to put any syrup on it until we tried it first. We agreed as were smart enough to not argue with someone who could spit on our food. Sure enough, everything we had read about it was true as we both absolutely loved it. It was a little too much for us though and we were absolutely stuffed when we left. We couldnt resist taking a picture of the chocolate Lilo & Stitch they had on display. We realized we probably could have left the car parked at the Poly and just taken the monorail to MK but figured we had better not since we werent guests there.
We decided to take the ferry over to MK and got there just as the opening ceremony was finishing.
The first thing we did was go up to the train station and just sit and overlook Main Street USA for a few minutes.
We then took a stroll into Exposition Hall as we had read they had one of the old ride cars from Mr. Toad there for photo ops. We looked everywhere but couldnt find it. Pal Mickey had fun though.
As we were getting ready to leave, Pinnochio and Gepetto walked by on their way out to do a greeting session. Since we had planned on getting a lot of character photos this trip, we headed out and got our pics taken with them. Gepetto gave Pal Mickey a once over to make sure he was working fine.
We also saw Gideon outside Exposition Hall and got pics with him. Over by the fire hall we saw Horace Horsecollar but by the time we got over there he was done and gone. We decided not to stick around and wait to see if he came back.
Pal Mickey was quite talkative on Main Street USA, first telling us where we were then telling us that the names on the second story windows were the early imagineers. Things we know but a lot of kids who are taking Pal Mickey around wouldnt. We had to take a picture of Pal Mickey with Roys statue.
The funny thing was that Pal Mickey didnt say anything at the time we were at Roys statue but when we left and were halfway down Main St he piped up that the statue next to Minnie was Walts brother Roy. For the most part though, we found that he was pretty good at knowing exactly where he was when hed decide to tell us something.
We had read many times on the Disboards how the
DDP has made it impossible to get walk-ins at any of the TS restaurants. In this pic you can see there was some walk-in availability. Throughout the trip, every time we saw this board there were always 3 or 4 TS restaurants with availability.
Our next stop was Adventureland where we went to ride POTC.
As much as we like the Tiki Room, we decided to skip it. It just isnt the same since they revamped the attraction. It was a classic and I really didnt see the need to change it. Furthermore I dont see how adding Gilbert Gottfried to anything can be called an improvement.
On that note, Ill sign off for now and when we resume well head on over to visit 999 happy haunts
