How 2 Big Kids Conquered 'The World' In 6 Days - UPDATED Aug 11 - Conclusion

It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears...

Wait, what was I going to write. :lmao:

I didn't know HM was going to be closed. We go the first week in Oct. I hope it is open then.

I love love love that you are taking pics of PM throughout your trip. That is really cute.

This is a great trip report; can't wait to read more.

P.S. The pictures are great also.
;)

how do you like the bagallini? i used one on my US/IOA trip the other week and loved it for the parks (i've been using it as a quasi diaper bag since i got it a few months ago :rolleyes1 )

Was our first time using the Rebel extensively ... we were glad to see how well the pics turned out too :)

Love the fact that we can stuff so much in it - the only complaint is having to open all the zippers for Security at the parks, but it's a small price to pay.

I'm in total agreement on the 'worry' over the rehab of HM. my favorite ride i want it to be the same. we get there on the 17th of Sept. hope it's open.:confused3 love all the pics. makes me long to be there. have some of this. thanks for writing this trip report. keeps me sane until i go.

Loving your trip report and pictures:thumbsup2 Cant wait to read more. We will be down there June 16-25th, and heading to Universal as well:thumbsup2

Enjoying your TR and great pics! Keep it up!:cool1:

AAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW. The haunted mansion pics make me sad.:sad1:
It will be down for refurb when we go. Even though I know its needed, I'll still miss it.:sad2:

Love your trip report! I really like all the details of your day and, of course, the pictures. Thanks for sharing, I'm looking forward to reading more!

Hello neighbour!!! Loving your trip report and the pictures.

I have 2 questions: where did you get your baggalini and do you always fly Northwest to Orlando. We flew with them in March and had no complaints. I've wondered what the other airlines would be like. Their times were the most convenient leaving from Edmonton International.

Unfortunately we can't be of too much help with the baggalini...we bought it online over a year ago and can't remember which online retailer we bought it from. It wasn't direct from baggalini because their shipping rates to Canada were insane and it wasn't through ebay. :confused3

As for the flights, we usually fly Northwest because they usually have the most convenient times for the money. We flew with Continental back in 2003 and didn't have any complaints, but NWA's times and fares have usually been much better. We tend to keep a close watch on flights and it's hard to find anything better than what NWA offers. WestJet does offer a cheaper flight but you leave at about 11:30 pm then get stuck with a 6 hour layover in Calgary then you fly to TO where you have an 8 hour layover. The trip ends up taking over 20 hours. You still have to be careful with NWA though. We booked the flights for our October trip back in January and we were leaving Edmonton at 8:00 am and getting to Orlando at about 5:00 pm. Since we booked, they added layovers in Indianapolis and Detroit and our new arrival time would be 11:00 pm. They were good about it though and didn't charge us any fees for changing to the later flight that leaves at 2:00 pm and arrives at 11:30 pm (the same times we flew in May). The other thing to keep in mind is if you fly with an American carrier you get to clear customs here before you leave and don't have to try and clear customs when you first land in the US and only have a 1 hour layover.

We’ve managed to purge the small world song from our heads and can carry on with our trip report…

Our next step was to head over to Mickey’s Toontown Fair. We hadn’t been to this part of the park since 2003 but with us trying to get character photos this trip we figured it was a good opportunity to get a few.

We took a few pics along the way

Now that we were here we got what we came for…character photos…

Minnie was very happy to see Pal Mickey and gave him a hug while making him talk. Donald wasn’t too happy to see him though and held him by the tail as far away as possible. He was quite happy when we left him out of the picture. The above 4 character pics were taken by the Photopass photographer.

After Mickey’s Toontown Fair, we were off to Tomorrowland

We took the back walkway to Tomorrowland and couldn’t get over how quiet it was. I think we saw two other families the whole walk over.

We noticed Buzz Lightyear doing photos but the line had been cut off already so we were out of luck. Fortunately he was going to be back fairly soon so we figured we’d try a few attractions we hadn’t before. Of all the times we’d been to WDW we had never gone on the Carousel of Progress so we figured we’d check it out. We actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Did you know the voice of the grandfather in the last scene is provided by the same actor who voiced the father in the original 1964 World’s Fair version of the attraction? If not you do now…you’re welcome. The song didn’t bother Lee too much but Bonny found it just as bad as “It’s a Small World”. Of course Lee being Lee had to start singing “It’s a great big beautiful tomorrooooowwww…” every time Bonny finally got it out of her head. She didn’t see as much humor in it as Lee did for some reason…

On the bright side we got out just about a minute before Buzz was due back so we got in line just as he was coming out :thumbsup2

After Buzz we decided to try something else we hadn’t done before…the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Not a thrill ride by any means but it was fun. Pal Mickey enjoyed it…

Next we headed over to the Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor…

We were glad we tried it and it was okay but I’m not so sure it’ll be on our to-do list when October rolls around. Stitch had a 15 minute wait so we decided to skip it. Normally 15 minutes is nothing for a wait time but we were quite disappointed in the attraction when we checked it out last trip. Besides, our wake-up call was enough Stitch for the day!! :lmao:

Next installment…castle pics and leaving the MK…

yippee!! another piece of the trip report to read when i got home from work. Thank you. Great Photos. ;)
