How 1 trip turned to 2 and now turning into 3!! Update Pg 40 Days 3, 4 and 5!!

Sounds like you had a nice visit. Sorry your little one isn't feeling well. That was a long way to come for only a couple of days. But, at least you were able to come and you had safe driving. Sometimes I wish my DH would drive like a grandma. He's scary sometimes:scared1: Only 23 more days on your ticker. It's getting close for you:banana:

It was a very long ride for a very short trip. I'm actually leaving to take Carter to the doctor's in a few minutes as he looked worse this morning... Poor Baby! I'm sure he'll be better in a couple of days!

Yes-very close!!! Tonight I have to bake something for the guys on shift tomorrow as they moved ton of furnature for the office staff on Monday so we need to give them a little thank you! Tomorrow night Corbin starts his next gymnastics session and since the last class was during the day, I'm thinking I'm going to send Dan with the kids so I can have a Disney night! :yay:

So funny about your husband-that sounds a bit like me. Corbin tells Dan he can't drive because he's a crazy driver! :rotfl2:

Here's some Pixie Dust! : pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
Hope you were able to add your DMIL to your ADRs!

Glad Carter is feeling better, and that you had a good visit with everyone in MI.

Thanks so very much! Carter's back to a fever this morning and now a slight cough so he's going to the doctor in a few minutes. I'll put the pixie dust to good work tomorrow night when I call Disney!! :goodvibes

Hi just got caught up. Your trip is really getting close:banana: Sound you had fun in MI you where kind of close I live in OHIO. I been to Bonnner's it a awesome place, Love the hand painted personizied oraments you can get. what did you get? Looking forward to reading your TR when you get back. say HI to Mickey for me.

Bronner's is wonderful. I actually bought a Harley Davidson mug for my DFIL (nothing to do with Christmas or anything!) and a Dora ornament for Carter that lights up. Both boys have personalized ornaments with their names on them and all that. I think we also got one for our wedding. They're beautiful. The store's so huge but it's so much fun! We will gladly tell Mickey you said hello! :goodvibes

Good luck at the doctors office. I just avoided a root canal for my DD at the dentist today

YAY for you!!! :yay: That's great news!

Dr went well...Carter's only got a sinus infection. We thought maybe croupe as the nanny's son had that last week. He's on one presription tonight-the pharmacy wants to call and check the dose of the other with the doctor before giving it to him. Hopefully tomorrow he'll feel a bit better and start back to "normal". Lots of  and snuggles-not such a bad thing really! :goodvibes

lmillercrew-thanks so much for the kind thoughts. :goodvibes

(I had this typed once and thanks to a little helper, get to start again!):headache:

Carter's doing much better now that he's been on his meds for a couple of days. There was a bit of miscommunication as DH said he needed the amoxicilian three times a day. In looking at the bottle today, he only needs it twice a day...:scared: Between that and the decongestant though, he seems to be doing well.

Dan spent over 5 hours yesterday sitting in at a dealership trying to get our van fixed...over 5 hours and almost $450 later, at least the door is fixed. They couldn't believe why I wouldn't let him pay them $25 to change a brake light. Can't imagine why!

Friends came over last night for dinner and Corbin was outside playing seriously, almost all day. He was only in for about an hour once he started playing outside in the morning. When he was in the house after dinner, he was really stuffy. I thought it was just a sinus infection that he caught from his little brother. Thinking that I would finally get some sleep last night, I got woken up about midnight by my little man who could hardly breathe through all of his wheezing. I kept asking if he was ok and he couldn't answer me. Being the paranoid mom that I am, I was ready to take him to the ER but was worried that taking him out would make it worse. Knowing who would come to my house if I called 911 (as I work at the fire station around the corner from our house), I knew they'd take great care of him. He kept nodding his head when I was asking him it he was ok. We sat in the chair the rest of the night with the dehumidifier and warm towels on his chest. He finally went back to sleep but mommy couldn't.

Dan got up this morning and took him to a redi-med place (not the ER but not a regular doctor's office). He came home with two prescriptions of his own for an upper respiratory infection and the beginnings of bronchitus.   He was in a great mood when he got home so Dan went to get the prescriptions filled and he hung out in the spare room while I cleaned up my scrapbooking stuff. He was having a great time having mommy wait on him. :cloud9: He's napping comfortably right now so hopefully he'll be better soon.

While Dan was at the dealership about the van and Corbin was outside playing, I managed to get the house cleaned up which was a huge relief. My reason for cleaning the house (aside from having to because I'm the adult) is that I was looking for my Disney binder.

Yes...you read that right. The infamous Disney binder was MISSING! Dan kept telling me that if I gave him 20 minutes, he'd be able to find it...needless to say that didn't happen. :rolleyes1

This morning, while cleaning up my scrapbooking stuff and getting his junk off my table, I found my Disney binder!! :yay: :yay: :yay: I'm going to try and call today to see what I can do about our ADRs and adding DMIL to them.

Last week I sent off pictures for my personalized menus to Debbi at the Coral Reef. I also confirmed the custom cake order so all seems to be well there. Did I mention I decided on an 8" white cake with white buttercream with a Cars design on it. It will say something like "Happy Birthday Daddy and Corbin". Cannot wait to see it! Of course now I'm thinking that I want it to be Nemo themed since we're eating at Coral Reef....ugh.

I'm also debating about doing something sooner in our trip as the Coral Reef is our last full day at the parks.

I also emailed Betsy about our baskets...originally I asked her to deliver them on the day we check in. As great as that will work out, with us getting there at different times because DMIL is flying, I think that getting them the following day will be perfect.

I also called All Star Sports awhile back to see about getting balloons or something in the room for the boys for their birthdays. They asked me to call back the week before we check in as that's when they'll get our ressie. So, I need to add that to my list to be sure I call back.

I delivered DMIL's shirts I made to her while we were in MI last week. She seemed very impressed with them. I guess we'll see if anyone wears them now. :confused3

On another Disney note, DH and I didn't have our "dream" wedding by any means. I very much had a budget wedding and we paid for a lot of it ourselves. At the time it was ok (I knew then it wasn't what I wanted but worked with our budget), but we'd agreed we'd do something different down the road. Originally we'd wanted to do something here in Charleston at the beach since we'd vacationed here and really loved it. Now that we're a bit more addicted to Disney, and people may actually come see us if we're at Disney instead of just at home, we're talking about a vow renewal ceremony at Disney in two years. In looking at some of the prices they sent me, it's going to cost more than what we paid for our wedding for 300 people! :scared1: I guess you pay extra for the "magic". As long as we're not lectured on how we're going to hell during our wedding sermon this time, it will be money well spent. :rolleyes1

Ok off to try and look for some Disney wedding deals and catch up on my scrapbooking-Carter doesn't exsist in scrapbooks-that's how far behind I am! DH's doing his DISboards football draft in a couple hours so we'll see what happens this afternoon....

Have a great Labor Day Weekend! :goodvibes

Hey all...scrapbooking not going well this afternoon...I'm just whipped from being up all night last night. I'm hoping tomorrow goes better. :faint: Thank goodness it's a long weekend!

I've been debating breaking down and telling the boys that grandma's coming to Mickey's house with us. Part of me really wants to see how excited he'll be for the next two weeks looking forward to Mickey and Grandma...and the rest of me knows Mickey's enough excitement for him right now and he can save the rest for when Grandma actually gets there. Hope I can keep my mouth shut long enough! :sad2:

Ok the boys are watching Deigo and I need to go through my secret Disney tote to make sure that I've got everything we need for this trip. I think we do but I'm also taking everything for the December baskets to drop off while we're there on this trip so I've got to get that together too...:santa:

As for what I've got/need for December, I got each of the boys a Cars (one red, one blue) lanyard with a cute little zipping pocket at the end. I also got each of them a couple of pins of some of their favorite characters (Cars, Nemo, Mickey, ect). For Dan I got him a firefighter lanyard (not Disney as I could not find one!) and some cute firefighter pins for it. I also got him a Star Wars pin since he asked if I was getting him a Star Wars lanyard when he saw the Cars ones for the boys. For our friend Sandy, I also got him a firefighter lanyard and a couple of pins. I'm not sure what to get our friend Angie just yet. I'm thinking maybe a nice picture frame but I'm just not sure...Betsy also asked for a couple of ideas for me so she could "surprise" me with my basket for my birthday :goodvibes Gotta love her!

As for what I'm still looking for, I wanted cute stockings and Santa hats for the boys since we're going in December. I'm hoping that Target or Walmart will put their stuff out soon and I can get a deal on them instead of paying Disney prices. I also need to get something else gift-wise for Carter since we're celebrating his birthday while we're there and mine will be the day we check in now.

I've also been working on my Christmas list to keep an eye out for deals at Disney. I know that's not easy but I'm planning on hitting the outlets on the way home after both trips. :rolleyes1 A girl's gotta shop and this girl only shops when there's a deal!

I also still have to get Halloween costumes together. I'm thinking a pirate for Carter-he does have a Captain Hook costume from the Disney store handed down from someone. I'm thinking the entire costume will be too hot but I can put him in a white t-shirt and black shorts with his hook and hat. He loves to say "ARRRRGGGHH!"pirate: I don't know what to do for Corbin...something not too hot since he'll complain. He wants me to dress up like a princess so I've got to hit the thrift stores or something to try and pull a princess costume together. I don't know about Dan either. He mentioned doing the pirate thing with Carter which I'm fine with. I also don't know what DMIL will do if anything.

Alright....enough computer for today. I love the DIS :disrocks: but I'm starting to get a headache...not good. :headache: Off to call Disney to see about our ressies!

Have a wonderful evening!

Hey All!!

Just a quick goodbye for now...Hanna's coming and we're getting the heck out of the way. Jill was on my email update so if she pops in, she might have heard from me and have an update. :goodvibes I'll try to check in if I can. The boys and I are going to Columbia until all is clear. Dan has to stay here-I'm glad I'm not that important! :rotfl: Hoping that all goes well and we'll be home very soon. There are lots of conflicting reports right now about how strong the storm will be when it hits-some are saying a Cat 1 and others are saying a 4 or 5:scared1: We're fine...the only part that will be tough will be leaving tomorrow night and not bringing Dan. Other than that I'll be ok. :sad1: Our friend Angie that's going to Disney in Dec with us found us a place to stay so we're set there. And thankfully we're staying together so I'll have a little help with the boys as well as someone to talk to. DMIL's already emailed to apologize for all of the calls I'm going to get :goodvibes

On a happy note, I found adorable pirate halloween shirts at Target this weekend waiting for a prescription to be filled. I also got foam swords at the dollar store and some cute little lanterns at the dollar store. That should be good for the boys...I'll just get them a pair of shorts or pants and they'll be set. Now mommy's got to figure out what she and daddy are wearing.

Ok...off to finish packing. Corbin's happy as I've packed the Cars dvd and his Cars cars so he's ready to hit the road. I wish it were that easy! I've got to try and get some sleep tonight so I can go into work in the morning and head to Columbia.

Talk to you all soon!:grouphug:

Hi Sorry to hear your are in Hanna path. I'm glad you are going to a safe place. If your dream about WDW it might help you get some sleep. Please take care, I will say a prayer tonite to keep your family safe. Let us know then you get home.

Didn't know you were in the path of Hanna either? I hope you all come out of it o.k. and no one gets hurt. I expect to hear from you after the storm passes.

THANK YOU ALL for the pixie dust, prayers and thoughts. Hanna's moving north towards Myrtle Beach today now...hopefully she stays that direction and doesn't head back this way-cannot tell you how stressful yesterday was. The plan for now is to hang out here at work then head home just like a "normal" day unless something drastic happens with the 2:00 update. If needed, we'll still head out of town. Now I'm way more than stocked up for Disney! :cool1:

Thank you all again-it really means a lot!! I'll keep you posted if anything changes!

Hey all! Weather's still a bit uncertain as we're on the boarder of the hurricane watch-we're currently under a tropical storm warning so keep those fingers crossed. They've already cancelled school for tomorrow.

I called today and added Grand Floridian Cafe to our ADRs for Sept. I've also ordered a custom cake for our lunch. It'll be our first eating out meal in the World on our trip so it's got to be magical! I ordered an 8" white cake with a Cars theme for Corbin and Dan's birthday. I also ordered a mini castle cake for DMIL. Very excited! :yay:

Here's the question of the day....should I order a small Mickey cupcake-ish thing for the boys (Dan, Corbin and Carter) and a mini castle cake for me instead of the 8" cake?????? It'll probably all work out to about the same price in the end so I'm not too worried about that.

If I keep the 8" Cars cake, I'm going to change their "official" birthday cake at the Coral Reef into a Nemo theme.

Tonight when I get home (hopefully) I'll post all of our new and improved plans. I also have to call Disney. Dan called his mom last night and she happened to mention her flight number changed :scared1: Good thing she mentioned it! I've got to get her ME stuff moved around.

Ok I should probably get some work done today....starting to get excited for Disney!!:cool1:

WOW!!! You just gave me some great ideas!!! Looks like I better get to work!:flower3:

One question - Do they put the baskets in your room Before you check in?

Stay safe with all this crazy weather!
-nat

Nat-

With our Sept trip, it will not be in our room. I plan on checking in without DH and kids so I can ask about it without them hearing. Of course, now that we're getting it on day 2 (instead of our check in day), they may leave it in the room. I know Disney in general has a rule about not putting anything in your room until you're there in case anything changes or happens. Once you're in there though, maybe it's more free reign.

In December, I already know that my baskets and cake will be in our room waiting for us as we're staying club level at the AKL so I asked to be sure that happened even if I needed to wait in the lobby or something while they do it.

Happy Trip Planning!!! If you've got time, check out Jill (Leonsmom)'s PTR-she has tons of amazing ideas and pictures! There are some amazingly talented people here on the DIS. :goodvibes

Good luck keeping your surprise. I'll let you know how it turns out for me...maybe that'll help sway your decision. ;)

Hey lmillercrew...they would be like cupcake sized "cakes"...I guess that's why I'm leaning towards those. I don't know. I think 8" cake will be too much too...I don't know! :confused3

Here's the info on where to order the cakes-all of the phone numbers and such are on the first page. There are TONS of pictures and people's experiences about ordering and getting (or not in some cases) the cakes they ordered: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1859670&page=65
