I am the president of my temple's mens service auxillary and on March 9, we will be hosting a Chicken Soup Cook-Off. We have 17 restaraunts committed already and should have several more committed by the date of the event. The cook-off involves having each restaraunt host a table with samples of their soup. For $8 you get to sample as many examples of Chicken Soup as you want. A portion of the proceeds will go to one of the food banks and there will be some celebrity judges.
There have been some great entries in past years from traditional matzvah ball soup to a chicken tortilla soup that was more like a casserole.
You are all invited to come and it will be an intersting way to get together. The event will be on March 9 at Congregation Emanu El located across from Rice University at 1500 Sunset from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
