Does anyone know how quickly housing fills up for each complex? Im planning on Chatham with 3 rooms and will be arriving with planned roomates. Im wondering how early I really need to show up. Im arriving august 5th. Thanks for any advice

You won't know until the day of what's available or not. Some days only one complex is available or maybe two or three apts in another complex that are gone instantly.

Also, be aware you are only guaranteed one roomate. While they usually try to accomodate everyone in the group, there is the chance you might not be placed with everyone in the same apartment

Think of it like a concert, the door opens at 8am, the first people in line get the best seats. I used to work in College Housing. When I drove in to assist with arrivals at 7:30, on bigger arrival days, the line was easily 100-200 people long.

The closer to the front of the line you are, the better your chances, but no guarantees.

I read somewhere that they ask you not to line up before 7am so as not to disturb the residents. Do they really hold to this?

How popular is August 12 for check-in? DD has a role in attractions.

After reading many posts, I dropped dd at 3 am and there were about 50 people in front of her. This may be a bit extreme but I would not go later than 5 am.

This has been a "rule" for years and has never been enforced. The earliest I've seen people lined up is 1:30 am. I think that's ridiculous. I don't plan on showing up til 6 or 7.

My roommates and I are planning to meet at 430 because we want a 3 bedroom

I dropped my DD and friend off at 5am last Aug. There was already 75-100 in line at that time. They met up with 2 other girls they knew (everyone that wants to be in the same apartment needs to be in line together but no gaurantee) with the exception of 1 as stated previously. My Daughter got into Chattum but had to get a 4 room apartment. As stated before the front of the line is a better chance of getting what you want.

The only reason to show up early is if you want a specific type of apartment. The 1 and 4 bedrooms go very quickly.
