I like to give really nice WELCOME mats.

heres what I give 1)A good loaf of bread -so you never go hungry 2) wine so life is always sweet 3) salt so there is always spice in your life 4) a candle or light bulbs so you always have light everyone always love it they think its nice and something everyone can use its the gift my mom taught us about she told us it was an italian custom to give this out since many don't understand each item I always give the gift and the meaning behind it with the candle I give both lightbulbs and a candle sometimes I include a flashlight

A tool kit that includes a hammer, screwdrivers, pliers and some small nails & screws. It comes in handy when moving into a new house for hanging pictures, assembling furniture, etc. Not a "fun" gift, but very useful.

I personally can never have too many dishtowels. So maybe a gift basket with some seasonal colored dish towels and a nice hand soap. You could easily do this for $20.
