For guests who opted out of housekeeping did you feel you missed it. would you do it again. deciding whether to opt out. thinking the gift card will compensate for the parking fee. especially if you can still call for new towels.

Honestly. NEw towels is the only thing we really need. We are considering this next visit

We opted out at POP last year and no regrets. It was a 4 night trip and I was happy to get $30.

We've done it both ways. Love the email credit and we used it for almost one admission to Disney After Dark. In the fall we decided to not take the email credit and not sure what we will do this fall. Hubby likes the room cleaned everyday. We are very neat so I guess I'd rather have the money.

We don't miss it at all. We happily opt out of housekeeping when we stay at the values/moderates.

Opted out last visit.
Received $30 e-gift card.
We are in the room to sleep.
Didn't miss it at all.
We are also just two sisters that stay pretty tidy.
Didn't even need to call for towels or TP as there was extra in the room.
I'd do it next time but I'm staying deluxe so don't have the option.

I did it in August but not in December.
Pro: I liked being able to sleep in w/o concerns of housekeeping knocking on door (even WITH the do not disturb sign!) and coming back to the room for a nap w/o concern
Con: In August I was with a different friend who must have brand new towels, etc each day. I admit that in the HEAT, it was nice to return to a freshly made room and neat beds.

I would miss it as I look forward to coming back to a nice clean room. Making beds when we are in a hurry to get out in the morning is not my idea of fun. My kids look forward to the special touches they leave in the room for them. If we were on an adult only trip we would probably skip it.

Tried it once, won't do it again. Missed it way more than we thought we would.

It would save money b/c in addition to the $10/day, I always leave a daily tip. BUT I do adore coming back to a nice clean room that I didn’t need to clean myself. I have several months to decide though so I’ll probably continue
to hem & haw about it & then end up keeping everything exactly the same as always. Decisions, decisions!

Have opted out several of times and never missed it. If you want new towels, toilet paper, extra blankets, etc all you need to do is call housekeeping and someone will come shortly with what you need. Love the gift card, usually use it for QS food.

We usually rent DVC so we only get trash and towel service halfway through the week. We haven't ever missed it. We don't mind taking our trash to the trash room and we can request or wash towels in the room.

Last visit we did not do housekeeping. Loved the e card and got clean towels everyday. (called and got them at the desk before we went to room) Never thought twice about it. Probably will never do housekeeping again. Especially if they offer the 30.00 I can see less maids being needed but thats business. Its not just the 30.00 but the not having to think...well should i tip or not. A lot of folks don't tip housekeeping..we don't often. This completely eliminates any of that. So, its a no brainier. I can't think the maids are loving the no housekeeping option for money...lol

I know we all have different opinions but we wouldn’t consider ‘opting’ out of housekeeping as, to us, it’s part of our holiday experience having somebody else freshen up our room. Also taking into account how much our holiday costs, coming from the UK, we would rather enjoy the full experience. After all it is only $10 a night.

I enjoy housekeeping. I keep the room pretty neat but its nice to get the beds made and bathroom tidied up. If they offered $10 per person per night, I may reconsider.
