House temperature

When it's in the teens or below, I have it set at 75. Whatever genius built the house put the thermostat right over top of one of the heater vents, so the house doesn't heat up like it should.

When we leave or at night when we're in bed, we set it at 68.

When I was young our home was drafty and I was never warm. I swore when I had my own house I would be warm.:thumbsup2

I'm the same way (but reversed, I guess) in the summer...I was always hot at home in the summer and swore that I never would be once I moved out. Hence, my house is like an icebox all summer long. :cool2:

Me, too!! I have parents who are never warm enough, so I sweated through summers growing up. Even now, when we visit Mom and Dad during the summer, I get sooo hot and uncomfortable at their house. What really gets me is that they will run the A/C during the day, then after dark, they OPEN ALL THE WINDOWS "so the cool night air can flow in". What??!!?? :confused3  They live in Georgia! It doesn't get cool at night!! Basically, they undo all the cooling they did during the day each evening, and make the house ridiculously humid to boot. I just don't get them sometimes...

ours is at 73 when we are home, and 65 when we are out or sleeping!

68 when we're home---64 at night--have lots of blankets and fuzzy warm socks

We usually keep it at 63, but we've turned it up for our cat who had surgery and is all skin and bones now. She's always so cold, poor baby.

66 during the day and as low as 62 at night. Hot flashes keep me warm!! :rotfl:

69-70 during the day, and I still have to wear a sweatshirt and a robe to stay warm, and then 64 at night.

During the day we set the temp around 65 or 66.
At night the temp is at 60.

My DH has some elaborate timing schedule for them, but the upstairs seems to hover around 70 and downstairs around 72, though I noticed he cleverly has it set the upstairs to warm up to about 73 over the time he's in the shower so it's nice and toasty when he steps out.

Jeez, can I move in with you people?

We always used to keep it at 68, but now that Menopausal Mama is around, it's doesn't go higher than 60. :lmao:

Let me tell ya, when it's 3 degrees out, 60 inside is not comfortable at all! The rest of us wear layers, scarves and gloves inside the house.

Actually, in order to feel "comfortable" in my house, we have have the heat set at about 74 degrees. I swear to you, it is the house, not me. My neighbor is the same way. No other house have I lived it where I had to crank the heat so much. It is awful. I am always freezing! When I sleep, though, I set it at around 66 degrees.

Mine is at 67, and as soon as the kids go to bed at 8pm, the house goes to 57 :cold: But I have quad-level house, and the upstairs stays at about 64 when the thermostat is at 57.

We usually keep it at 66-68 during the day, unless we are feeling particularly cold that day, and we shut it off at night since we are all bundled under blanket!(It usually doesn't get colder than about 60 all night)

Between 63° and 65° here. I don't need it much warmer than that in the winter... and anything warmer than that feels stifling hot to me
