House of Blues in Downtown Disney deal!

This is a great deal, but some times restaurants will stop selling their certs. on restaurant.com after a few months and then will no longer honor the certs. even though they do not expire for a year.

Do you know how often this happends? Our trip is not until Nov.
Also the price is now $10 for a $25 certificate.

The certificate is good for 1 year..also you have to apply the promo code BITE before 3/16 to get the certificate for $2.00

Thank you for posting this! I just bought 2 certificates to use. One for my May trip, and one for my June trip! I buy these all the time at home, and I have only had one time where they did not want to honor it, but I talked them into it.

For the person acting for recommendations --- they serve cornbread in a skilllet that I always purchase as a separate appetizer. It's a mix of sweet and a little hot and just delicious with honey butter. We would never ever order meatloaf in a restaurant, but a waiter told us it was a popular choice so we tried it. It's very tasty! DH has recommended it to several of his guy-friends and they now order it regularly. Burgers are good, as well as salads.

Thanks, my DH loves meatloaf out (and I find myself gagging just thinking of it!):scared1: so I will be sure to let him know!

So if I understand this process.... I buy the $25 certificate for $2 then must spend $35 in the restaurant and they will deduct the $25 so I have to pay the difference + tax and tip? Is that correct?

::yes::

From my past experiences with shopping at restaurants.com, they typically say the restrictions right underneath the prices. For example, this one for HoB says 18% gratuity added. This is usually where they will give the "no alcohol" restrictions if there are any. So my guess would be you could use it towards alcohol as well. Just my experience. :)

::yes::
Can't wait to go! I have used Restaurant.com a lot, they do call the number to verify the number on the certificate. Only once has a restaurant stopped participating (in my experience) and Restaurant.com emailed ME to let me know, gave a full credit and allowed me to use it toward any other restaurant on the site. I got the email before I even went to the restaurant to use it. Great deal!

Also, I have found that the certificates will be "sold out" on the site once they feel they have sold enough, the restaurant doesn't quit participating, they just don't allow more certificates to be sold for awhile.

So, I should make reservations for HoB, right...not try to just walk in?

also do you have to print them out right now? - my printer at home is not hooked up but I could print to work tomorrow.

I see you ordered, but in case anyone else wondered

You don't have to print right away, you can print whenever
also you could print two copies or three or whatever, they have a number on them and you will only be able to USE it once, no matter how many you print.;)

Thank you, OP, for posting this!:worship:

I just ordered one for HoB, and found an Italian restaurant close to my house that I like, so got one there too! $4 for two restaurants, that is awesome.:thumbsup2

BTW, I went through fatwallet.com since Restaurant.com participates in their cashback online purchasing program at 24% (i.e. you get back 24% of what you buy into your fatwallet account). So I actually in the end should get back $.48 - not much but it's more the principal of the thing, I only paid $3.52 for $50 worth of dining. :)

I have eaten at House of Blues twice. Both times the enterainment was pretty good and I had a good time, but the food was pretty bad both times. I am glad that I didn't pay for it. :laughing:

Thank you so much for the post!! We have never eaten there. What a deal it is for 2.00!!! I even had a little credit in my paypal account to cover the cost. :goodvibes

I read the reviews and they are mainly good. I don't think too many places screw up a burger and the desserts sound lovely. Can't wait to give it a try in one month!!:yay:

I had 3 restaurants in area that have stopped accepting them even though they were not expired. I just always call the restaurants now to make sure they still honor them, just wanted to put this out so people know it can happen. This is a great deal, and I am buying 1 for our sept. trip. The cert. is $10.00 but when you put in code "bite" at checkout it takes it down to $2.00. Code expires 3/16/2010.

Thanks so much for sharing this I just purchased and printed my certificate. We're on the regular dining plan but using 2 TS credits on the HDDR left us one credit short for our upcoming 9 night stay so this will definitely solve that problem.

Thanks again!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for this info ... tried to do this but only accepting addresses from the USA and I am from the UK. We plan to eat here in October but looks like we will be paying full price :mad:

But there is no entertainment at the restaurant. :confused3

Could you use your email, and the address of the resort you are staying at. The certificate could be saved in your email account and you could print it up at the resort?

I was there for something for my job in 2004 and 2008, we got food and entertainment. Food was served to us in the club area (is that what it's called). Anyway, both times it was pretty bad...
