What is the average number of hours you spend in the parks per day?

Just curious (and obsessively planning)

Kathy

DH, DS, DD10, DD6, DS13

Edited to add: I just added a poll. I realise what you average and what can do without being physically wiped out are probably different, lol

It is now just my husband and me but we still spend probably 3-4 12 hr. days at a park. We are usually at WDW 7-10 days so maybe half are spent that way.

How many hours? All of them! :lmao:

Seriously, on Park days we spend just about all the opening hours there. Not always rope drop, but close. We relax thru the busier middle of the day, but just keep trucking, maybe hop to change pace or meet an ADR.

Typically my fiance likes to do the rope drops and we go to the park where we have an ADR so pretty muc open to close. I put 9-10 because I didn't include our downtime while eating or watching parades.

When we first started going as a family we went from open to close without a break. Now we are there when it opens, leave somewhere between 1-3:00, go back to the hotel for swim or nap, and then return around 6:00.

Typically. . .

We make RD and leave after lunch so 9-1or2 = 4.5 hrs
We take a break and go back after dinner so 7-11or12 = 4.5 hrs
4.5 + 4.5 = average of 9 hours
Thats plenty for us to do EVERYTHING we want over the course of a week, AND we don't get run down by mixing in afternoon breaks each day

Could not answer poll because of other factors ... like:

Which park?
How crowded is the park today?
Weather, temperature, rain or not.
Number of days to spend in each park this particular trip to WDW.
Size of my party, and make up of same.

However, when I'm on a solo trip I generally spend all day, till the park closes in the evening. (I never visit any park on a day the park has EMH scheduled.)

We enjoy our resort alot too so 3 hours in the am, break for the pool and picnic lunch and drinks and back to the parks around 5 or so. We want a relaxing vacation and don't spend every hour in the parks, too much of something is not a good thing.

If my park of the day is open, I'm there. Have been in MK more than 15 hours several times.

we are the "if its open we are there, we leave when they throw us out" type of family :rotfl2:

our kids love the parks, and havent given us any sort of trouble hitting the pavement and not stopping, they sit back in the strollers (lucky ducks) and enjoy the ride. We have never had a major meltdown or anything and they always wake us up in the morning for more :lmao:

Me too, I have been so many times, I don't need to be at a park no more than 5-6 hours tops.:thumbsup2 Sometimes less if its crowded.

I can go from sun up to sun down when I am with other adults and *if* the park is not ridiculously crowded.

I voted 7-8 per our last trip. We used to do 11+ hr days but found it too demanding and tiring. Our trip last year was our best yet and the right blend of relaxation and park time.

I'm normally at Early EMH the DD does about half of them with me DW meets up later in the late morning early afternoon.

We may take a mid-day break but even then it's just to the Pool or a Waterpark.

Then I always close out the EMH night park. Last trip we were in MK until 4am on July3rd and I made Epcots rope drop . Not sure if it was the EMH that day or not but it was a drop run to Soarin.

I know when it comes to crowds most say stay away from EMH but for us It means more time in the parks and that could be sitting on a bench snacking ,people watching

if they ever opened 24hrs I would be in my Glory

We usually stay all day unless its crowded. Fighting the crowds wipes us out.

This is normally what we do to. :)

We average 4 to 5 hours per day. I get tired really easy. That's why we take such long vacations (two weeks min). Its also why we plan so many TS meals - more rest time

I usually get in a good 5-6 hours. I like to go late in the day and take advantage of the evening magic hours. Only because I hate getting up early, it ruins my day if I'm already tired and I don't drink coffee so I'd rather get my sleep and then deal with some traffic and relax with my hubby taking in the park and enjoying what I do get to do and see. Rather than worry about what I can't see.
