Hours at AK

Anyone have any insight as to why AK is open until 8:00 now, but in June it will be closing at 5:00?

Is there a high possibility the hours in June will be extended?

Probably about 50%. Sometimes they extend the hours well in advance and sometimes they do it last minute.
Heck, last month they were extending AK hours that day!

Yup.
60 days out, it is very unlikely that they will have made all the changes to the schedules.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a 90% probability. With ROL and the evening safari supposedly opening, they'll have to extend hours till past sunset. ROL likely wouldn't start til 9 in June. But I don't think they'll post those changes until these new attractions actually open.

And before you say it Robo, yes, I know you said BETTER than 50%.

nearly a mere 2 years after their first-announced premier date.

We've been there the 1st week of June the last two years and AK has been open until 7 or 8 pm during each of our visits. You'll have the park practically to yourselves if you stay that late.

Last year, June hours weren't finalized until May 11.

Fingers crossed that they post changes in times earlier rather than later. We have hoppers so I may stick with my plan of doing AK in the morning-early afternoon, but may hop over to see Rivers of Light if it's open by then.
On the subject of Rivers of Lights, is this going to be something like Illuminations where you find a viewing spot and stand? Or is it more of a show with seating? Sorry if that's a dumb question.
