 I booked through Hotwire for a rental car as a suggestion from these boards. NOT GOOD!!! We were told we would have a Monte Carlo or comp. and when we arrived all Hertz had left was a Mustang. A family of 4 on vacation for 14 days with luggage in a Mustang, lol. So, I was forced to upgrade at 15.00 a day more. I could have booked an Explorer for this length of time for 399.00 instead, we ended up over 600.00. I have emailed them and have basically been told I agreed to the upgrade!!! Don't use Hotwire!!!

Hmmm ...

What size car did you reserve? A mustang is a "D" Class -- "Sporty 2 DR Standard" at Hertz.

All car types at Hotwire are 4 DRs unless it's an economy, convertible, or pick-up. If you didn't reserve one of those (I don't think you did :) ) but they tried to give you a 2 door Mustang and then strong-armed you into paying more for a bigger car, then they were wrong. I would take the matter up with Hotwire. I've found their customer service to be very nice.

Funny they don't show it.....I have the page printed out with the Monte on there. No, I didn't ask for a 2 door and have proof I requested a 4 door. I am talking to Hotwire. The first email from them was basically too bad but the second is a phone call request.

The question is WHAT CLASS CAR DID YOU RESERVE? (compact, mid size, standard, full size, premium...). No one (agency, Priceline or Hotwire) guarantees the actual model of car only a car class. Most car trunks are relatively small, a family of 4 with a a lot of luggage may very well need a luxury car or mini-van.
