hotwire/connections expiration dates

For those of you who are members, what kind of expiration dates are you getting on NON Disney type gift certs? Like Target, Red Lobster, anything else?

I want to order a bunch, but don't want to be stuck with ones that expire.

Do Certificates/Gift Cards have expiration dates?

Expiration dates on certificates/gift cards vary; however, certificates/gift cards are typically good for several months (expiration dates are printed on certificates/ gift cards). If you feel that you will be unable to use the certificates/gift cards in the allotted time, you may return them for a refund within 90 days of the date on which they were billed (see refund policy).

I had read that, but in order to return them you have to send them certified, and I had also read on these boards, that if you end your membership(which I plan in doing after a month or so), that they won't let you return them.

I thought that maybe some people on these boards had ordered some and could say what the expiration dates were.

I ordered gift certificates from Connections about a year ago. I ordered Red Lobster/Olive Garden and there was not an expiration date listed. On the back of the cards it says that after 24 months of inactivity there would be a fee deducted from the balance. I have used some of the cards in the last month (I have had them for almost a year) and no problem. I also ordered movie tickets and they don't expire until next year so they were good for about 1 1/2 to 2 years. I don't know if this is the way it still works but this was my experiece with them.

My Olive Garden and Outback vouchers do not seem to have an expiration date. The movie tickets and Planet Hollywood vouchers are good through 12/31/2003 and the Q&C meal vouchers are good through 5/2004. I ordred all of these from Hotwire savings club in September. Haven't ordered any of the store vouchers so can't comment on those - may use some for Christmas gifts so would be interested if anyone has info on the Barnes and Nobel or Target ones.

The Targets did not have an expiration date
Also got Chuck e cheese with no expiration

Outback doesn't have an expiration date. Card for Bennigan's works like a gift card where the amount is scanned off until your card has a '$0' balance. If a year goes by without any activity they deduct a maintence fee of $1.50 per month off the card.

Does hotwire charge you the $25 up front for the gift cards and then at the end of th emonth refund you the $5 like connections?

Does Hotwire Savings Club ever change the restaurants it has gift cards for? Many of the ones listed aren't near me.

one more question...when it says "credit " does that mean you pay the $30 or what ever up front then get $6 back or pay $24 up front...(I was afraid to go any further to checkit out at checkout cause I couldn't remember about the expiration dates.) also if it is credited to your account is that when you use them or how do you get your money back? I just assumed they were like the disney vouchers, pay the reduced amount up front, but is it different?

Aslo any one know about the six flags card? how does that work

The 20% credits were posted to my credit card the month following the order with hotwire. They charge the full amount and then refund the 20%. I had previously cancelled my connections membership before the trial month was up and did not get the 20% credits an the Olive Garden cards I purchased. Guess there was probably something in the small print I did not read about being a member for more than the trial period to get the rebate.
