Hotwire Charged me twice!

I apologize for venting! I hope everything will be sorted out today.

Yesterday I came home and found out that I had been charged another $115.00 by hotwire.

June 9 I purchased 10 Q&C vouchers from hotwire with the 7.95 express shipping. Total $122.95. Well when I got home yesterday and found they had charged me again, for 115.00 I was a little worried.

I call hotwire and talk to a girl there. She finally says she will investigate and for me to call my bank and let them know.

Well I had used my Paypal debit card, so I call them. They give me the information for Hotwire to fax to Paypal and their fax number to give to Hotwire for the charges to be released. (the 115.00 is tying up funds on my Paypal account).

So when I call hotwire back, of course I get someone else and have to explain everything over again. This guy just wasn't as quick to understand things as the other girl. He passes me around to about four different people and finally the supervisor. They actually had the nerve to ask if I was SURE that I didn't go on the computer that day and order some more vouchers! :mad:

So I say no, I'm sure!!

Okay I get passed to one more person (supposedly a billing specialist) . I asked him why he couldn't just fax the info to paypal, he says, he does not have that ability :confused: . I say so credit my account back then! Now he says this sort of thing is usually taken care of during normal business hours and he will make this priority for the next day (which is today).

I'm so sorry to vent to you all, but I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

Paypal said if hotwire claimed the charge, they could do a chargeback. (there is a fee to this I'm sure!?)

Anyway sorry this is so long. I hope it gets straightened out today. I also hope I get my vouchers!
I asked the first girl if they had been sent yet and she said if I did not get them yesterday they would be here today. Yesterday the PO was closed due to Reagan's death so I don't know.

Thanks for listening to me rant. I'm so excited about our trip. This will be mine and my 2 DD's and one DS's first trip. DH has been a couple of times.
 
Don't know why but the problems always seem to happen when a debit card is used. Hope they get it figured out for you.

I agree, it does happen often. But, it drops off after about 3 days.

Just wanted to let you know that the vouchers came in today-Airborne Express- so four days, not bad! I was worried I wouldn't get them.

I called Hotwire back today because the charge is still showing on my account-still tying up funds that I need!
They gave me the run around yet again, disconnected me once , but finally gave me to a guy who gave me the fax number of hotwire. He told me to fax them the copy of my bank statement showing both charges and that they would phone me. I did that, so now I'm just waiting for them to call me back.

Anyways, thanks for listening.
