We want to stay at AoA in a suite but its so expensive And to save on food a bit, we were going to bring with us a one burner Hotplate. Is this allowed? Are you allowed to fly with these things in your checked luggage?

You can fly with them inside luggage, if they are electric.

Don't think you can use them at WDW resorts.

There are kitchenettes with a Microwave oven available.

If you are paying for AOA Suite and want to save money by cooking in the room, you won't need a hot plate, the room will be equipped with a microwave.

The AOA suite has a kitchenette, so I don't know if it's the same as a regular resort room as far as bringing your own appliances. But if you're looking to heat things you will have a microwave in the suite.

Moving from Theme Parks to Resorts since this question is related to Resorts :thumbsup2

You might want to consider the FW Cabins. They have full kitchens, with a dishwasher ;), plus a grill outdoors. You can use a service like gardengrocer.com to deliver groceries.
