Hotels within walking distance to parks

We stayed at Candy Cane Inn. It was a very short for us even pushing DD'S wheelchair. I think it was shorter from there to the gate than our room at WDW was to the bus stop. They even have a free breakfast that was very nice.
My sisters and I are thinking of staying here, how was your experience at the Candy Cane?

For the most part, it wax great. The problem that we had was on check in. Our flight was very early so we got there well before 3pm. They were very nice and held our luggage for us. We walked to Downtown Disney for the day. We returned about 3:30 and neither rooms were available yet. This was a problem for us since our youngesy DD is disabled and it's difficult to change her diaper because of her size. We explained and they assured us both rooms were in the final stage of being ready. We sat by the pool since we couldn't change to go in. About 30 mins later we checked and we're able to get keys for one room. The cleaning people were just walking out. The other room was still not ready. We were told 30 more mins.
This went on for quite awhile. After several trips to the front desk, the room was finally ready well after 6pm. At this point, we had been up for over 18 hours (early flight and time change)

Other than that, everything was good. The walk to the park was short and it's on the same side of the street as the parks so we didn't have to cross Harbor Blvd. The free breakfast was good. Boiled eggs, cheese, bagels, muffins, donuts, toast, cereal, oatmeal, juice, coffee, milk, banana, Apple, oranges...It made it easy to start the day and head to the park.

The pool isn't anything special but was nice to cool off. Our rooms were right across the pool on the first floor. We had no problem with noise.

If you drive, it could be difficult to find parking. We only had a rental for the first and last days. We had to double park to pack everything up on check out.

We never used the shuttle since the walk to the gate was so short. I would say it was about the same as we walked last year from our room at All Star Music to the bus stop at the front. Maybe a just a little longer.

The Courtyard Marriott Anaheim Theme Park Entrance (deep breath) ... has rooms with double queen beds and bunk beds, sleeps a total of six (seven if you have an infant in a crib). And those are the standard rooms. There are suites as well. No theming to speak of, but sometimes it's nice to get a break from too much color. They also have a small water park. And it's literally across the street from the entrance to Disneyland / California Adventure.

We stayed here in May and highly recommend it. It is very close (well, as close as you can get being "across the street" from Disney).

Havng a difficult time looking at Google Earth and trying to see if there are any non Disney hotels within walking distance of parks that have an interior hallway to your room.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Do any of the hotels within a 10 minute walk have full kitchens?

Desert Palms on the corner of Harbor and Katella (right next to the 7 Eleven) has both interior hallways and some rooms have kitchens. We've stayed there on multiple trips and is very walkable.

The Hyatt House@Convention Center seems pretty close and they have great rates. I'm torn between this hotel and the Courtyard Theme Park. It's a lot cheaper at the Hyatt House and the reviews are pretty good.

I agree with the Hojo recommendatuons. We stayed there and loved it.

And that's a must, especially after a busy day in the parks!!

They were so comfy I actually looked up what kind of mattress they have before I bought my new one!! Like sleeping on a cloud. Lol. Much better than the usual beds in the value resorts at WDW.

Hubby and I will appreciate that! I recall the first I slept in one of the comfy beds at the Grand Floridian resort at WDW....it was also like falling into a cloud...great descriptive words.

FYI, HoJo's Anaheim and the Courtyard across the street are owned and operated by the same owners/management team. They also happen to be the landlords for the Mimi's Café at the corner.

Interesting.....just wish Ctyd wasn't so much more expensive! We love Marriott.

Another question, please, re: Hojo. I have been reading more trip reports on Hojo, and am not sure what people are talking about when they say they could not leave their car parked at the hotel to go visit DL. It doesn't make any sense to me unless they are saying "unless you are a guest here, you can't use our parking lot". Also, does it cost to park there as a guest? Is there adequate parking?
Just planning ahead...avid trip researcher here! :thumbsup2

HOJO is one of the FEW that parking is FREE! It's one of the many reasons we stay there often as we primarily drive. We've arrived at 1-2am with no issues finding parking. They keep the lot gated at night too so you have to " ring in" and provide your name to get access which is great.

They let us park there until 3pm on checkout dates too so not sure what others have said. HOJO is awesome and I recommend signing up for Wyndham rewards as the points add up fast!

Parking at Hojo is free for guests and theres plenty of spaces. We've never had trouble finding a space. They always let us leave our car there on the day we checkout so we can hit the parks for a bit. I just tell them when I check out and they always say no problem. Parking is one of of the (many) reasons we prefer Hojo. Even if we arrive at night we can easily find a spot and aren't forced to double park like you are at some properties in the area.

Thank you. Good to know there is at least one hotel that doesn't charge!
