We're planning a trip to Disneyland in February 2018 with our boys, who will be 2 years 4 months, and 17 months at that time. Our #1 must-have is a hotel within walking distance to the entrance (10 minutes or less preferably), so we're looking at the Grand California, and also the hotels across the street from the main entrance. Our next preference is a hotel with a splash pad, toddler pool, or kiddie pool with a depth of 2' or less. Is there any way of knowing without calling each place, which hotels have a tot friendly pad or pool? Google has failed me... Anyone with experience or recommendations?

There is a Howard Johnson nearby with a fun kiddie pool play area. We stayed there last year and we liked it. It is within walking distance and it's clean and pleasant.

HOJO and Courtyard both fit your requirements. They're next door to each other and both a very reasonable walk. If you're going in February, it might be cold though. It could be warm. It's southern California. But, I take day trips in February often and it's usually pretty cold for using a pool. Of course, if you're from somewhere where 60-65 degrees is considered warm, maybe that's different.

Courtyard Marriott theme park entrance.

We stayed at HomeWood suites. It's 15 min walk or 15 min walk/ride on the free toy story shuttle. Love it. Staying there again next time. Free dinner mon-thurs too.

I don't know about swimming in February. It would have to be a random heat wave I would think. February is generally not swimming weather here.

regardless of weather it is swimming weather or not, pools at most of the hotels will be open year round. We went the first week of March last year and it was lovely swimming weather.

Using a pool in the middle of winter in Anaheim is fine for us. We are from the Pacific Northwest and Anaheim weather in Jan and Feb is like our summers.
When we're there in the winter, my grandkids are in the pool twice a day. Once at our mid-day break and after the parks close.

Thanks folks! These suggestions are very helpful! Personally 72 degrees is NOT swimming weather in my opinion, but my husband is okay with it and if that's what it takes to make him happyl, who am I to argue? Haha

You will get lucky to have 72 in February. It happens but temps in the 60s are much more common. You might get lucky though and get mid 70s, it's not unheard of!

Candy Cane Inn has a shallow kiddie pool behind their large pool- a lot of people don't even realize it's there. My littlest loved it when she was tiny! It's also a great hotel for kids because it has breakfast and a shuttle.

hmmm I will discuss this with my husband. There's no sense in going with unrealistic expectations. Hopefully we can keep the kiddos busy at DL and otherwise at the hotel.
