Looking for a hotel near or in Port Canaveral. So far we have looked into LA Quinta inn and Residence inn. Trying to find something that is not too expensive.

Thank you all so much

Not sure what your budget is, but the Doubletree is our go-to.

You could try running a search on Kayak to get a nice list of rates to compare. My guess is that the LaQuinta is on the cheaper end of the spectrum, the Residence Inn on the higher end.

I am using a miltary discount and trying to keep it under 150 a night. Also thank you!

I just stayed a couple weeks ago at Comfort Inn in Cocoa Beach. $129 for the night, plus full breakfast, parking for the duration of the cruise, and shuttles to and from the port. Only about 10 minutes away. Rooms were recently renovated. It was nice.

It looks like the Homewood Suites might work for you @ $145. It is brand-new, and while I have not stayed at this particular HS, I've stayed at plenty of others. Unless you co-sleep with your kids, HS is awesome because you have two rooms, so mom and/or dad can have some private space to stay up late, watch some TV and generally not have to creep silently around the room out of fear of waking the kids up.

Breakfast is complimentary, and is a cut above the usual hotel "continental breakfast". They usually have pancakes, and a couple of other "hot" dishes, along with the usual cereal, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, etc. They also have complimentary dinner and sometimes offer a free cocktail or two.

Finally, if you just want to crash in the room, it has a full kitchen, so you can pack food in the car and keep it in the fridge, or run to Publix and pick up a few things to get you through until embarkation.

I think Residence Inns offer a lot of the same features, but I'm a Hilton guy, so Homewood Suites is all I can speak to first-hand.

We prefer Residence Inn on Astronaut Blvd. We've booked another 2-bedroom for our November cruise. Can't wait.

Not sure how low of a military rate you can get there, but we did the Park and Cruise package at the Country Inn & Suites Cape Canaveral and it was awesome. Was a little more than $150 for us with no special discounts.

Just letting you know that we have stayed at the Residence Inn a few times and we have had great stays there. convenient to waterfront and port. Hope you have a wonderful trip.

We like Residence Inn as well. It is a bit more $$, but with a discount and depending on your room choice, it may fit in your budget. Clean, well maintained. Breakfast is great. Feels very comfortable and home-like there.

Definitely brand new...the address for this Homewood Suites is across the street from Country Inn and Suites and Residence Inn, and is taking bookings for May 1 2016 and after. Great location.

Yeah, but what I cannot understand is how it is already "sold out" for next Feb. 24th, the day before my next cruise. It looks like they are only accepting reservations through the end of this year; there is literally no availability the first quarter of 2017 for some reason. Other Hilton properties in the area have plenty of availability and are accepting bookings.

Thanks for this general review. We have a Homewood 2 bedroom booked by the airport before our May cruise. Seemed too good to pass up.

We love the Residence Inn the best but are trying the new Homewood Suites this August before our extended family. Got a great rate. It was much cheaper for our family than the Residence so we will compare.

We are going to give it a try this August. Yes, RI offers a very similar set up with full kitchen, suite rooms and comp hot breakfast. Looking forward to comparing the two hotels. HS was so much less expensive for the same night.

Hey there!

Last November we had a pleasant stay at Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral (3425 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach, FL 32931). We got the AAA rate and it was under $120 (including taxes and fees). The free breakfast was just okay, but the hotel was clean, modern and convenient. We strolled to the beach and enjoyed the sparkling pool. Would definitely stay here again. We had a rental car and took the shuttle to the port. I believe there was a shuttle offered by the hotel but there may have been a small fee. It wasn't too far of a drive to the Port.

Have a great trip!

As being military I recommend the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Titusville. 30 minutes from port and military rate of $119 including tax per night, free breakfast and a 40% off voucher for port parking, which is $48 off the $120 fee at the port!

We have used the Double tree twice and really liked it. They also give you the 40% off coupon for the parking at the port, so overall that helps keep costs down.

Thank you all so much! Definitely checking into these! Titusville is not that far at all.
