Hotels sold out

It seem like most hotels are sold out Jan 22-26 on Harbor. Only a couple have availability and the prices are high. Is there something going on? I would have thought MLK weekend would be hard to get a room, but starting the 22nd things sell out.

Any suggestions on where I can find something?

Tinkerbell half marathon is 18-20th so maybe some trickle over?

I was able to get 19-22, can't get 22-26, we had to push back our dates. Most are sold out 23, 24, 25. So it's not trickle over.

Have you tried calling as well as looking online? Last time I booked BWPPI there was no availability online, but when I called they had rooms available. I think hotels are careful so they don't overbook.

I believe there is a music convention in Anaheim during those dates, when i typed in January 2013 Anaheim Convention, a music convention popped up. The dates for the convention are the 24-27th January 2013. :) That may be why you can't book anything then.

Yes, that's when the (huge) NAMM convention is at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Well the convention would explain it. What is available is expensive. I called Park Vue and I was able to get a room there. We had booked there when we were coming earlier in the week. It just kills me that the room went from $106 to $146 for the same room. I really don't think that hotel is worth that at all. Especially after some of the reviews on trip advisor.

Well... except when it's one of the few with available rooms in the immediate area. Then it's "worth" is certainly more.

But, yeah, it hurts when it's $40/night more than previously. At least you have a room though! :upsidedow

Yes we were there around that time last Jan. and there was a huge NAMM convention in town. All of the prices on Harbor were jacked sky high and there were few vacancies.

Now through the HoJo site I can get a double. It's about $60 less. PV are queens and right across the street. We'd be better off closer right? Less of a walk and free breakfast.

$60 total or $60 less per night... per night for sure. HoJo's doubles are not normal doubles, they're not that much smaller than Qs.
