Anyone have a suggestion of a hotel close to universal that is nice and not expensive??

I was thinking about staying at the Doubletree, and there's a special out right now for $55 a night.

Not sure if anyone else has had experiences here but it looks like a nice hotel for the price.

I saw this same deal. I'm already booked there through AAA for our Dec trip, but I noticed that this price is good on the corner king size room as well, or AAA is just a standard room. Anybody ever stayed in this type of room before? It would only be like $10 for us to cancel on ressie and book this one, but just wanted to know if it was worth the hassle.

We are booked at Doubletree by Universal for Sat and Sun, Oct. 15 and 16 then on to RPH. They gave us the Travelzoo rate of $55 for Sunday but Saturday is $75. The site does say $55 on Sun-Thurs. Weekends $20 more. Has anyone stayed at this hotel that can give information? I checked travelocity reviews, and it was mixed.
