Hi,

My son and I are going in for a 3-4 day stay for HHHN 2010.

All we need is a place that offers a shuttle to the park and is clean. A B'fast would be nice as well.

Any recommendations?

I would check out travelzoo. they had some awesome deals on Springhill Suites and Residance Inn near Universal Studios and both those hotels got excellent reviews on tripadvsior.com.

I am staying at the Residance INN near US for 49 a night. I feel like steal the hotel.

We stayed at Hyatt Place Universal when we went last year. It is right across the street from Universal property. The rooms were HUGE, with 2 queen beds and a big living area with a sleeper sofa. LCD tv, free internet, fridge and free continental breakfast. They had a shuttle 2 x in the morning and 2 x in the evening. It is about a 10-15 minute easy walk and a $5 cab ride. Weekday nights are around $89, weekends are more.

Do you remember what was included in the breakfast? I wonder if there are hot items as well as cold.

There were bagels and English muffins you could toast, as well as fruit and cereal and some assorted pastries. They had OJ and Starbucks coffee to drink.

Thank you - this helped. We booked at Hard Rock, but spent the extra money for a Deluxe room vs. Club. It was a flip between more space or food. In the end the 200 feet won out. It's a bummer they don't have the larger rooms on the Club level.

Do NOT stay at the Universal LaQuinta. All of the other area LaQuintas are fine but we stayed for a few days at the Universal location a few years ago and it was raggedy and dirty. The Holiday Inn by Universal was fine.

We stayed at the Sheraton Studio City. Its about half a mile from US/IOA. I got it on Hotwire for $52/night. Very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
