Hotels near the port...

Do you have any pictures of the room at Motel 6? The web site only has a picture of the pool. After booking at Comfort Suite and a number of conversations with Motel 6, suddenly there are rooms available at Motel 6. I have toyed with the idea of switching. We are staying 2 nights and since I am a penny pincher with everything ;) , the $30 difference could sway me!!!

And you just never know when that hand will pop out even if you have it in with the driver!!!! :rotfl:
I saw a picture of the room in the PAssporter I have. It is just your standard room with 2 double beds, tv and fridge. It is a black and white picture but it looked okay to me. Like I said, we only need it for a few short hours that evening to lay our excited little heads so we didn't want to spend crazy. We wanted to make sure we secured something so we booked this early. We may check out priceline and if we can get an insanely lower price, we would switch.

The only thing about that though is we need 5 rooms and the most that pricline lets you bid is 4 rooms. So, we would be taking a chance that they would have that 5th room at the same hotel. We would have to book through pricline for the first 4 and then call the hotel directly for the 5th to make sure we were all together. :grouphug: Not sure if we would get that much of a better rate than $68/night in July anyway. :confused3

I called Ron Jon's today about a room on the Friday night before our spring break cruise. One bedroom was $325 without tax!!! :rotfl2:
Looks like we will be at the Radisson for sure.
I think mousesavers has a special rate of 115 a night - you may want to check.

Good morning,
There are two motels that will be opened by the end of the year which are located just as you come into Cape Canaveral off of Hwy 528 - they look like they are going pretty fast on it - one called The Residence and is sister to the Hampton Inn, the other is called Country Inn and Suites and I still have not been able to find out who that belongs to. I support the Radisson simply b/c of Joe, the general manager. This gentleman is awesome and can be credited with helping me get a number of stranded customers out of here during the hurricanes last year - he did it without any complaints and if you have a problem, he steps right up to the plate to help anyone. We also have a family oriented motel in cocoa Beach called Luna Seas that is a pretty place and close to most shops. You have to remember that the only road between A1A and the beach is Ridgewood Avenue so for most part you are only 1 block away from the beach regardless where you stay on the East side of A1A - Inn of Cocoa Beach is very romantic, well it seems that way to me and yes they are right on the beach - they received quite a bit of damage from the hurricane, but have it all together now - there you are close to a restaurant called Capt J's and a local hangout out called Castaway Lounge.
Anthony owns that lounge - real nice and so it Capt J. you are only a couple of blocks from Winn dixie, Ron Jon's, shopping etc.
If I can help further, just drop me a note at snelsonbrown@aol.com
Oh I also wanted to mention that Fabain with Avis will meet or beat prices on rental cars - she is located right on A1A in Cape Canaveral.
Blessings always
Shirley and Norm

We stayed at the Radisson and I really enjoyed it. We had a whirlpool tub in the room to relax in the night before the cruise. We were not able to utlize the pool, so I can comment on that, but I have read great things about it. Also, we ate breakfast there the morning of and they had a great buffet. There is gated parking with shuttles to the port - so we felt safe leaving our car parked there for the week.

We only live about and hour and a half from the port and arethinking of staying at the Radisson again to utlize the parking!

What time was the earliest shuttle??

Thanks so much!! :goodvibes

We're going in September and can't reserve the shuttle till two weeks prior, they wouldn't tell me that info on the phone :teeth:

I appreciate your response

The country inn is part of radisson.I called the 800 no. and they didnt know anything about it.

Remember it is only an hour from WDW to port, so we usually stay at WDW. It gets us in the right frame of mind. Since you can't get in to the terminal until around 10-10:30 am, the drive isn't a problem at all (the kids are usually anxious and up by 7:00 am).
