Hi all! We have a Disney cruise booked for Feb/18. flying in the day before and have stayed at the Hyatt in the airport before precruise which has been great. The prices for the Hyatt seem quite high for next year and was wondering if any one has had good stay at other hotels near the airport, need a shuttle as well. Thanks.

I was looking at hotels where I could book the stay on rewards points, and both the Hampton Inn Gateway and the Comfort Suites Airport get decent reviews on TripAdvisor, and have both airport shuttles and brekkie. Have stayed at neither, to be fair, and am considering them based on having the points to cover. That said, those two chains tend to be pretty consistent.

We're not using Disney transport to the cruise, though. We're using a private shuttle.

We have stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites and Embassy Suites by the airport and would recommend both. I always check TripAdvisor and the Hampton Inn at Gatteway consistently gets great reviews. Be careful - there are 2 in the same area.

Embassy Suites is my favorite by the airport. Love the evening reception and the have the bets breakfast.

Thanks for the help, one question how are the shuttles back to MCO in the AM? we are taking DCL shuttle to the port.

The shuttle from Doubletree was fine.

I was going to suggest another less expensive option for you than the Disney bus, but looked in your signature, and if it's just the two adults or even with your son, it sort of ends up being a wash vs hiring a car/driver (though renting a car would probably come in cheaper than 35x3).

We stayed at the Staybridge Suites, last summer. $121 total. Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Free Airport Shuttle. We liked it because not only was it close to the airport, but also since it was a suite, it had a door to the bedroom so it gave more space and privacy for us and our kids.

If you are considering the Hyatt at the airport keep checking the prices I booked at like 239 and the price dropped to 189 for a runway view and 159 for regular view and this is memorial day weekend.

I saw prices for the day I needed last spring break go from $361 to $295 to $217 and then finally to $199. Even if you have a reservation elsewhere, if you're first choice is Hyatt MCO, keep checking (daily). You might be surprised.

We stayed at Hampton inn at gateway and had NO issues with shuttles to and from airport and making DCL transport in time. I think we had to call hotel when we arrived at the airport and then picked a departure time for morning when we checked in at hotel. It's been a couple years but I'm pretty positive that was how it worked.

It will be just the two of us this time! Have rented a car before and drove to the port the day before, it was fine. The problem is the extra steps involved with returning the car to the rental company at the port and then catching the shuttle to the ship. Might keep looking at Hyatt rates to come down.

Keep an eye on their prices as they do have specials sometimes -- like pay in full before the trip. The two times we stayed we used AAA discount and it was quite affordable. I think they also have AARP discounts.

After all these years of DCL passengers staying there, you'd think they'd have a special deal just for the cruisers.

That was how it worked for me both times I stayed there.

And, while I would not count on it happening, the second year when the shuttles to were timed and I ended up with a later time than I wanted (as you cannot sign up until you are there and I got there about 10pm), I was hanging out downstairs because I was going stir crazy in my room and figured I would call a taxi...but the a shuttle guy saw me and was able to take me. Being solo might have helped too.

I've stayed at the Marriott several times. Also have stayed at the other Marriott properties nearby, Fairfield Inn and Springhill Suites, both of which offer free breakfast.

Thanks for the replies, I have noticed some hotels near MCO offer a shuttle to the Port as part of a room package. Has anyone taken this transportation?

We stayed at Hampton Inn Gateway Village last week after late flight. Didn't use the shuttle but it was driving ahead of us from the airport at 1am. Very convenient 5 minute drive from MCO, very clean, friendly staff. Breakfast was typical Hampton - eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, yogurt... Hyatt was 220 last I checked which is a zillion Canadian dollars so we went offsite. Would definitely stay again.

Another option I am thinking about is getting a one way car rental and driving to the port and staying one night there. Feb must be a busy cruise month as I am finding some of the hotels in PC and Cocoa Beach expensive as well.
