I'm looking for a one night stay near Reagan airport that has a package to park and fly for my December cruise. We only live 2 1/2 hours from the airport but our flight leaves at 6am. :(

The bigger name hotels will probably have it, but depending on who you are flying it may be break even on parking at long-term. So example if flying SWA, long term parking is right behind the terminal, about 15 minutes. If you reserve in advance, it’s a dollar or two cheaper. I saw you also mentioned Dulles, the Marriott at Dulles did park and fly pre-COVID but you would have to check.

FYI -

There are two airports in the metro DC area. IAD is NOT Reagan airport. IAD is Washington - Dulles International Airport and it is in Chantilly, Virginia which is about 20 miles west of the city. There is a Marriott almost walking distance from the terminal - the Washington Dulles Airport Marriott.

DCA is Ronald Reagan National Airport. It is located in Arlington, VA and is right across the river from the city. There are numerous hotels right by DCA in Crystal City - which is the "neighborhood."

Which airport are you flying in and out of? Make sure you don't go to the wrong airport - it happens all the time here. Also, I would just look for all the big chains and check near the airports. I would imagine many of the hotels will have a park and fly - esp near IAD. IHG, Marriott, Hilton, etc.

My mistake. It is DCA. I know this like my own name and here I am screwing it up. LOL I fly into IAD several times a month.

Thanks everyone. I looked at several hotels online but none had a package. I also looked at a 3d party website and saw that they had one of my favorite hotels listed. I called the hotel directly, Hilton, and was able to get a package rate for cheaper than the 3d party and cheaper than parking at the airport and paying for the hotel separately. Now to look for a place to eat dinner that night. 😄

I live in the area - what kinds of food experiences do you like? Anything you're not able to get where to live? There are tons of cuisines represented within 5 miles of there and you'll have a car so the options are literally endless.

I love all kinds of food and during the school year I live in West Virginia so not really a food mecca. Would appreciate any recommendations. The next night we are absolutely eating at Whataburger. LOL

Since you'll have a car and will be by the metro line, you can really go anywhere.

If you want to stay close with an easy drive, I'd recommend Lebanese Taverna in Pentagon Row or Carlyle in Shirlington (the bread basket - particularly the ozzie rolls - is amazing). A walkable alternative is Kabob Palace. It is a tiny little place next to a 7-11, but the food is amazing and it's an area staple. It's Afghan style kabob, the lines can get long, especially later in the evening, but you can also call ahead to order.

My top recommendation for the area (Jaleo) recently closed because of construction, but there is another location in downtown DC. It's delicious Spanish tapas (which I love for the variety of options and share-ability). The chef, Jose Andres, also has several other restaurants in the area and you can't go wrong with any of them. My favorite of his other restaurants is Oyamel, which is just a block over from the DC Jaleo, and serves Mexican style small plates. The mushroom taco, brussels sprouts and margaritas are particularly excellent. They also make in house seasonal agua frescas for a non-alcoholic alternative. Both are on the same metro line as Crystal City, so it's an easy trip. There are also many parking garages if you prefer to drive. I wouldn't count on finding street parking though.

If you want to drive a little further to try a different cuisine, Annandale is home to dozens of Korean restaurants - my favorite is Kogiya Korean BBQ. It may look intimidating with all the little dishes but they're excellent at explaining the items and how to put them together. Plus you get to cook your own food on the grill at your table so it's a fun experience. Leave your coat in the car though because the meat smell will permeate any of your clothing that you bring inside.
